rihanna =P~
Posted by maHidoodi at June 18, 2006 03:33 AMI like so much the first shot (beautiful lighting and shadows).
Posted by Pooriya at June 18, 2006 03:49 AMThat first pic is just fantastic.......I am in awe at your talent. Graeme, Scotland.
Posted by Graeme at June 18, 2006 05:11 AMGreat shots Sam.
Posted by Lynn R at June 18, 2006 06:55 AMGood candid portraits. I don't know Rihanna music but I can say throught your photos that she is very secure of what she is doing.
I see that the 350D works very well in low light situations. Even at ISO 800 the noise is very acceptable.
Posted by nuno f at June 18, 2006 08:11 AMDaily I am amazed in the variance in your photos.
Thank you
Posted by Arleigh at June 18, 2006 08:31 AMThe first picture is my favourite... Great lightning! Nice atmosphere!
Michael
That's Helena Bonham-Carter from "Planet of the Apes" on the first photo.
Posted by Dmytro at June 18, 2006 09:44 AMLove the B&W. Perfect! The background in the second is facinating and almost has me overlooking the lovely lady.
Good stuff!
Posted by Hugh Petrie at June 18, 2006 10:04 AMThese are great. I especially like the top image, the lighting is striking.
Posted by Laurie at June 18, 2006 10:06 AMThe silhouette is impossibly amazing. I would not be surprised to see it on her next CD cover.
Posted by Kevin at June 18, 2006 10:14 AMHi there, I don't know who Rihanna is, but I've definitely fallen in love with the first of the two shots.
I think the light burning her profile and the low tone of the rest of the image have a wonderful contrast, and makes tangible the sens of awaiting.
One of the greatest shots I've seen this week.
Posted by marco's light opinion at June 18, 2006 10:14 AMSam! I am envious of your job.
Posted by Harlequinpan at June 18, 2006 10:17 AMTop picture is pretty cool. good job. How far were you?

Posted by Ehsan at June 18, 2006 03:32 PMTop shot here. Perfect! The slight light on her, and the shape of her bodyguard (?) Love it!

The first is awesome.
Why iso is 800 ? Could you keep is at at 100 and chose shutter time 1/50s instead of 1/200s and expect the same silhoutnese effect ?
I really like the 1st shot! I think you should
send it to her - I'm sure she'll be as impress
as the rest of us :o)
nice one. love to still see enough details of the face with lights in the glasses in the first pic. wonder how you got in to the rehearsal, job?
Posted by martin_d at June 19, 2006 12:27 AMahhhh rihanna is my fav!!!!
Posted by kala at June 19, 2006 05:33 AMLove the first shot. Gorgeous, very evocative.

Posted by alexandre at June 19, 2006 07:30 PMI have never heard of popstar Rihanna nor have I heard her sing so I am in no position to judge her musical talent. I can say, however, after viewing this shot of her, that she does a very convincing imitation of a slut.
Posted by Martin at June 19, 2006 07:45 PMMartin - What exactly tips you off on her "slut" imitation? The facts that her midrift, butt, and boobs are fully covered? The lack of garish whore makeup? Her simple hair-do and head wrap? Oh wait, is it because she's black and a singer? Seriously, your bias or agenda or whatever is obvious.
Posted by rek at June 20, 2006 04:14 PMlovely! loved the black/white shot on teh top!
Posted by aashish at June 20, 2006 07:01 PMThat 70-200L does such a good job. I have a Canon 100-300 that I find myself keeping in my camera bag in favor of the 70-200. Really nice captures here.
Posted by Abe at June 22, 2006 01:18 PMlove the lighting effect in the first one. the second one's background is very interesting; almost a statement about the static/noise/fuzziness of our pop culture...
Posted by Serena at June 30, 2006 01:16 AMThe first one is amazing...i can feel the atmosphere.
