Dumb founded… absolutely gorgeous!

Posted by Abraham at June 6, 2006 01:27 AM

Wow I love the sky in this shot, the clouds just pop out of the photo. Great depth in all of the shot considering its a distant city view. Amazing.

Posted by Andrew at June 6, 2006 01:47 AM

Why does the sky appear so dark? Although stunning it is very unrealistic

Posted by Hitesh Sawlani (hitkaiser) at June 6, 2006 02:00 AM

brilliant; i want such a lens too !
(and i don't seen any distortion..)

Posted by hans at June 6, 2006 02:08 AM

This is a very wonderful shot. The clouds on the skyy are great.

Posted by Frank at June 6, 2006 02:51 AM

Posted by Kris at June 6, 2006 03:37 AM

wow, great sky, seriously :) wow

Posted by David at June 6, 2006 04:22 AM

Wow, that shot is just fantastic. Did you use a circular polariser, or other such lens?

Posted by woof82 at June 6, 2006 05:49 AM

very nice! can't wait to get a polarizer my self

Posted by Jesse at June 6, 2006 06:02 AM

Very nice. You should post more like these (for example, western sky :)
Just one thing I don't understand. Streets of Toronto ALWAYS empty on your photos. No cars, no ppl. (ok, on this photo just one car)
For example - few days ago photo of cycling near Ocad's building on mcCaul street. Not a soul on the street. Do you photograph early in the morning, or what?

Posted by Pera at June 6, 2006 06:08 AM

great overview

Amazing photo! What is the secret?? :)
Custom lens? Computer enhancing?

Posted by Ilya Sabanin at June 6, 2006 08:12 AM

Nice. Warm day, polariser, and some post work? In any case, looks like I need to spend more time in the city.

Posted by Michael at June 6, 2006 08:18 AM

You truly are the cool-cloud magnet.

Posted by Jeremy at June 6, 2006 08:46 AM

Nice cloud catch. Dramatic for sure. Polarizer helps a lot.

Posted by Chris at June 6, 2006 09:31 AM

great photo, i love the clouds.

Posted by brian at June 6, 2006 09:36 AM

Great shot...very layered feeling, those clouds just floating over the city like puffs of whipped cream...and the city looks like a minature setting...like a architectural model...gotta love those lenses.

Posted by Jessica at June 6, 2006 09:57 AM

Super nice. Amazing detail - I found myself staring at this for awhile. Nice shot!

Posted by Jonathan at June 6, 2006 10:02 AM

Posted by stefahie at June 6, 2006 10:29 AM

Sam.
Great shot. You're a cloud master. Do you mind sharing the technique (photoshop, settings, etc) that brings out the clouds so beautifully?

Hi,

Great picture!! For some reason reminded me of http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/archives/photos_landscape/050901_1288.shtml . Had to go thru your archives to find it. I feel that the processing on this one is similar to today's photo. A tutorial always helps ;-)

This is a very special block you've captured here today.

It's where I was in my early 20s.
It's where my world opened up.
It's where the rest of my life came from.
It's where I met my future husband.
It's where I went to school.
It's where my hubby went to school.
It's where my hubby also worked for many years.
It's where I took my first street photos.

Today - we are very far away from it.

Thanks Sam

This is one of my favorite sites, I check it daily, and often visit it several times a day to look back at your pictures. They always make me smile.
I have a question about this shot- I'm not familiar with Toronto at all, and am wondering what is the tallest obelisk-looking structure in the back right of this picture? Is it a lighthouse? Thanks!

Posted by Trish at June 7, 2006 03:39 AM

Amazing shot.

Posted by navin harish at June 7, 2006 05:03 AM

Trish, I believe that is the smokestack at the Ashbridges Bay Sewage Treatment Plant.

There's a popular beach right next to it!

Amazing Sam ,, always inspiring

Wish I had a view like that
