phew... hope they get those idiots :-/

Posted by moritz at May 30, 2006 02:17 AM

So sorry to hear about that. I really liked your desktop setup. Hopefull the insurance will cover it.

Posted by Ali at May 30, 2006 02:20 AM

Wow, this is horrible, you must be really upset about this! I can only pray for the return of the equipments and rightful justice on the thieves. Please update us with the latest situation!

Posted by Tim at May 30, 2006 03:00 AM

Okay, that sucks. I hope they were able to find the people who did this.

Your site is full of range. I love it. Love it. You do with the rebel what most people can't do with far more expensive equipment.

Posted by gypsy at May 30, 2006 03:13 AM

That really sucks. It reminds me of some other thieves that left behind pop bootles as a calling card. I can't recall where though.

Posted by Gord at May 30, 2006 03:15 AM

Dam, thats too bad, those monitors looked really nice as well.

Hope they get caught and your work is returned safely

cool picture!!!
I love the "blackness" in it.
Sorry you had to get brake in to get this one.
Anyway, that's kind of funny to see you. You really don't look like i would have pictured you.

Thanks

So sorry to hear about the break-in ! :S
At least you didn't lose the current work..
Great shot as usual, i like the colours of the can.

HERE IS PEPSI FAN.

Posted by Bighuang at May 30, 2006 04:57 AM

What a terrible thing to have happened. I hope they manage to recover everything and get the bad guys.

Great shot anyway.

That is a great portrait of you too.

Posted by Laurie at May 30, 2006 05:50 AM

coca-cola clasic...this is the best...not light, dietetic, etc...it looks very nice with the black background...and the red colors are great !

Posted by Marius Muscalu at May 30, 2006 06:35 AM

You are most handsome Sam and I love to visit your photo blog every day!
Blessings!

Posted by Jeanne at May 30, 2006 06:49 AM

Sad news.

Posted by Maran at May 30, 2006 07:06 AM

Great shot Sam! Sorry to see it came from the loss of equipment and work.

Posted by Ian at May 30, 2006 07:33 AM

I'm really sorry to know about what happened. It seems that the thieves had all the time in the world to steal most of your stuff.

Posted by nuno f at May 30, 2006 07:58 AM

Sorry to hear about your break-in!

Posted by alice at May 30, 2006 08:07 AM

Sad to hear you got burglarized.
And to have lost the backups must be terrible.

Thank you for your daily glimpse of life.
It is always a genuine pleasure to look at your photos. And it also gives me ideas and tips on how to improve my own photography.

Thank you!

Posted by Rikard at May 30, 2006 08:24 AM

Wow. That sucks buddy... what else can I say? I hope they get 'em, and get your stuff back!

Posted by Robert at May 30, 2006 08:36 AM

Dude, I am very sorry to hear about this. Your daily shots bring me a lot of pleasure and inspire me to get out more often to shoot. Best of luck getting things back in order.

Hi Sam, sorry to hear about your office incident, I know exactly the feeling of being robbed. The good news is that you are getting new computers!;-)
I am a daily visitor to your site and I have to say I envy your courage of taking a picture everyday. No everyone has that....Very nice portrait by the way! bye

Posted by J Arturo at May 30, 2006 09:44 AM

holy shmoly - did crunch get hit as well? screams like an inside job considering you aren't on ground level. that's gotta be frustrating to walk into on a monday morning....

Posted by nicesmooth at May 30, 2006 09:49 AM

Awesome photo Sam - particularly given the story behind it. Lets hope for you & all our Optix sakes this is the last time. Perhaps, since we need more artwork we should get a print of this for downstairs!

BTW: You look very striking & handsome in your photo.

Posted by Sylvia at May 30, 2006 10:35 AM

That's some pretty bad news to hear. Hopefully the can will give them up and y'all can get your backup drives. As for the photo, this almost looks like a staged shot with the black background. Nice use of a bad situation.

Posted by Nate at May 30, 2006 10:55 AM

Sorry to hear about all that!!

Hopefully they catch the bastards... nice to see a photo of you though. Now if I'm looking at you taking those photos around town, I'll know! lol

Posted by fragileheart at May 30, 2006 11:16 AM

Wow, that really sucks. Hope they catch the guys and you get your stuff back.

Posted by A thinker at May 30, 2006 11:39 AM

Well i hate to say this, but at least the thief's got good taste. Imagine being broken into by some knave who leaves behind a Diet Coke can.

Posted by PlasticTV at May 30, 2006 11:48 AM

Good looking you are, aren't you! Sorry you had bad luck with burglars. Hope you have a good insurance! I wish you all the best.

Posted by Bertha at May 30, 2006 12:25 PM

The break-in is a drag - but what I'm really struck by is your portrait on istoica.

You are capturing my hometown, and I no longer live there. Well, I'm just going to say it - I love those eyes!!

Posted by Christine at May 30, 2006 12:40 PM

Freeze breathtaking!
I like the colors of black, temptations to commit a crime!

Posted by Harlequinpan at May 30, 2006 12:50 PM

or 2 packs of budweiser and nachos :D at least the shot would be more colourful. sorry 'bout your gear, but these things happen to everyone :) no-one is insured from b***wipes :D

Posted by lettonie'ux at May 30, 2006 01:18 PM

well, I personally find it amazing that somebody broke into an office with the purpose of robbing some expensive equipment and they still had the time and nerve to drink Coke!

Posted by Susie at May 30, 2006 01:46 PM

Big downer none want to know. I'm sure the equipment can be replaced but a years work done likely has lots of value lost and not retreivable. Big empty feeling for your group.

Now; what I want to know is: Did they leave a message on the pad using the rubber eraser for a pencil?

Now wouldn't that be a trick?

Posted by Hugh Petrie at May 30, 2006 02:00 PM

Sam, really sorry to hear that, thats terrible. I hope you guys find the people who did this. I liked the pic Chris & Jessica did as well.

Posted by shane j montgomery at May 30, 2006 02:39 PM

I'm very sorry to hear about the break-in. The worst for you must've been the loss of your work. You can replace equipment, but how do you replace the output of your creativity?

Posted by talk talk talk at May 30, 2006 02:57 PM

Talented and also good looking! It makes me sick of envy!

Posted by AA at May 30, 2006 04:00 PM

Baby, come out from behind the camera! What a treat to see those eyes that bring us so much.

Posted by Linda at May 30, 2006 04:32 PM

Stolen monitors are one thing, but those stolen hard drives must be absolutely devastating.

Posted by A.Rozumek at May 30, 2006 04:36 PM

amazing shot! and great detailing! lovely!

Posted by aashish at May 30, 2006 05:27 PM

With any luck, They'll get shot during their next burglary! It was a good shot, though. I did'nt realize what a handsome, debonaire chap you are. Cheers!

Posted by Larry at May 30, 2006 08:40 PM

Perhaps the crooks could nor resist the large LCDs but is just plain cruel to steal backup files!

CSI Toronto: If the fingerprints do not reveal the culprits perhaps DNA from saliva around the can opening will.

Posted by Kevin at May 30, 2006 08:46 PM

hm. my friend's office in montreal had a break-in sometime last weekend. alarm was set off and they still managed to take 4 computers.

Posted by Qiang at May 31, 2006 01:11 AM

Loved the coolness of your photo on such a hot and humid day.
So sorry to hear about the break in... On a more positive note, you could be a model too hoho :)

Posted by Sandra at May 31, 2006 09:37 AM

A friend sent me a link to this site on Monday and on Tuesday when this picture was posted we too had a break in and lost a laptop. Just spooky! I love all the photos and will start coming here regularly.

Posted by woaksie at May 31, 2006 10:48 AM

Is the cocaine reference in this photo deliberate?

Malcolm

Posted by Malcolm at May 31, 2006 08:19 PM

Someone's rather sexy. =-)

Sorry to hear about the break-in. Don't worry, they'll meet their just desserts!

Posted by Soloman at May 31, 2006 10:09 PM

Two words: off-site storage.

Posted by Roman at June 1, 2006 02:03 AM

We had a similar robbery at my previous employer. The theifs only took the newest laptops that employees had left over the weekend(about 15 of them).

After we replaced everyone of the computers with brand new ones, they came back and stole those.

After that, it was pretty much mandated that we always take our laptops home with us.

Posted by Richard at June 2, 2006 02:48 PM

Wow, that really sucks.

When your backups are taken, i only hope you can get them back, as those are the most value, i really hope they just dont wipe them.

Good luck with it all. Always seeing your work, i love your perspective of toronto, and i hate it when good hard work is taken from you.

Hopefully youll get some of it back.
