My days...what a SHOT!...just splendid! By the reflection and that blue you def. must have used a polarizer. Great Great SHOT...!!!
Oh and the cars...they look a lil' unreal...was that from correctin the barrel distortion or the wide lens?
Absolutely amazing!
Posted by Cody at May 19, 2006 03:04 AMSpacey but rich... Cool!
I agree with you about the 'wonderful atmosphere' after the rain :)
Woaw !
Posted by !! at May 19, 2006 03:35 AMFine photography, great light but the landscaping has a way to go.
Posted by AG at May 19, 2006 03:55 AMOutstanding colours indeed WVS! The blue, orange, red and green are very, very powerfull. This colour-explosion gets beautifull repeated in the puddle. Great light and composition too.
I'm following (and admiring) your work for a couple of years now, and still it inspires me. Thank you for sharing!
Posted by javga at May 19, 2006 04:20 AMIt's very beautiful street shot. Very nice reflection on the water and so great colors tone. It's very sharp. I'm so like Canon EF-s 10-22mm ;)
Posted by Pooriya at May 19, 2006 04:42 AMyes you are right, great textures. the only thing i don't like here are those two cars on the right. they disturb the picture a little bit (because there is only old urban stuff to see).
ciao
Posted by sushi at May 19, 2006 04:48 AMfabulous colors.

Great colours! So vivid, and beautiful lighting.
Posted by Heath at May 19, 2006 05:18 AMI have to agree the colors and textures do look refreshed after a rain. Nice framing in the puddle.
Posted by Laurie at May 19, 2006 06:04 AMGreat perspective and contrast in color . The partial reflection of the building helps the area feel grittier.
Posted by Robert at May 19, 2006 06:18 AMSuper picture. I love reflections, too. That's a great location and you picked a perfect spot to shoot from.
In the '70s and '80s, I used to love shooting down around Cherry Street: the beach, gulls, and the industrial water activities. The condo eyesores weren't there, of course.
Posted by Jack Bush at May 19, 2006 07:04 AMWhat I find intersting in photos like this is the extreme contrast of reds and blues with the low angle of sun - morning or evening. This is striking with the red buildings and then the reflection to double it up.
Very intense view. Nice eye candy. It's a goody, Sam.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at May 19, 2006 07:49 AMYep, uh-huh - rain does leave a great footprint, which you've managed to capture incredibly well.
Posted by Daniel Seguin at May 19, 2006 07:50 AMMy first thought was "delicious" ! I can totally relate to your comment ... I love to head outside after a heavy rain to soak up the atmosphere.
Posted by Fiona at May 19, 2006 08:25 AMHey can you post a desktop resolution copy of this image?
Thanks,
-Simon
Posted by Simon Cain at May 19, 2006 08:45 AMFantastic. The colours and details are stunning. That fence is a green as grass...
Posted by dave at May 19, 2006 08:50 AMAbsolutely luscious colours. Lip-smacking stuff Sam.
Posted by Sina at May 19, 2006 09:50 AMSplendid shot!!
A puddle is a wondrous thing......thanks for sharing it, Sam!
once again, amazing picture!
From your last images, I'd say you really like this new super wide angle lens :) (I know I do)
Wow! I posted a picture that I took right after (and kind still during) a rain that I took a short while back. Colors are very saturated after a rain when the sun brightens things up a little. All the colors in this one is great with the red, green and blue! And the reflection is a plus.
Posted by Nate at May 19, 2006 11:53 AMGorgeous shot today. I love the colours on the ground near the puddle that is reflecting the building.
Posted by Graham at May 19, 2006 11:56 AMGREAT SHOTS! VERY GLAD TO KNOW YOU
Posted by maryamm at May 19, 2006 12:14 PMthe colours in this one are great! love the blue, green and red & the cracks on the ground creating broken edge of the puddle is gorgeous. great job! :)
Posted by Serena at May 19, 2006 12:57 PMbeautiful vivid colours. you are getting a lot of mileage out of that lens.
Posted by john at May 19, 2006 01:26 PMI agree with your commentary. The colors are rich and warm, and the reflections and composition here are just great!
Posted by Abe at May 19, 2006 01:50 PMThat's gorgeous! One of my favourite DDOI's in a long time.
Posted by A thinker at May 19, 2006 01:52 PMwhat a beauty!!
Posted by shula at May 19, 2006 01:53 PMWOW!
Love the colors.
Great shot. I agree with you about the heavy rain - everything always looks a little surreal for a while after the weather clears.
Posted by Rob at May 19, 2006 03:47 PMI love this. Taking an ugly parking lot and making it look beautiful through photography.
Posted by A.R. at May 19, 2006 04:27 PMI've seen quite a lot of reflections photography recently, so it can start to become a bit 'samey'. But you know what? I like this, it works pretty well for me, and ties in with your unique style of photography.
Posted by Jonathan Fleck at May 19, 2006 04:27 PMI admire how you make something from nothing. Most people would have passed by this scene on the way to something more beautiful, but you manage to find beauty in a rather dismal scene. Nicely done again Sam.

Posted by Jerry Aulenbach at May 19, 2006 04:39 PMOOOOoOOOO0000hhhhhh~! It reminds me of a paint splatter...if that makes any sense to anyone...ok bye!
Posted by Olive at May 19, 2006 05:57 PMWow! Aren't these buildings near Glendon College on Bayview and Lawrence? Excellent shot.
Posted by Molly at May 19, 2006 06:02 PMi don't blame you. this is a great scene. the reflection has have a whole new meaning to the photo. great work sam.
Posted by armeen at May 19, 2006 06:27 PMdon't know much about photography but I know THAT's PRETTY! :)
ps. enjoying your photos! a lot!

Posted by ptad at May 19, 2006 07:24 PMWow, amazing colours. Could we have a wallpaper size, pretty please? :D
Posted by mel at May 19, 2006 07:37 PMWonderful reflections that day! Such strong converging lines almost rush us right to the back of the shot.
Posted by micki at May 19, 2006 09:04 PMIS it a scene of Fata Morgana?
Posted by Harlequinpan at May 19, 2006 10:31 PMYeah, I second the desktop resolution request. I'd love to see this as my wallpaper!! Please! :)
Posted by Mike B at May 19, 2006 10:34 PMReminds me of Burtynsky.
Posted by Travis Kniffin at May 20, 2006 12:48 AMI like the dimensions and depth, with both the left and right fencing narrowing to the back depth - and the clouds mirror this as well - a spacious feel to the forward area of broken "mosaic" pavement. Reflection of building not only in water, but also the near mirror image of the adjoining building. Bold color contrasts are great. One of your best, I think.
Posted by Vickie at May 20, 2006 12:57 AMHoho you make the most mundane stuffs look amazing. :)
Posted by PlasticTV at May 20, 2006 12:58 AMYour pictures are breath taking. You are extremly talented. On a different note... Iam related to Janie Creba and although our family is not talking to any media I must acknowledge your pictures of that day. You truly touched my heart. Thank you for caring. I wish you much success with your future endevours.

Posted by Dennis B. at May 20, 2006 11:27 AMI guess most of what can be said has been so I won't labour the point but the colours are wonderful...you are right Sam there is a very special light after a storm, you seem to have captured it so well here.
Phil
one of your best in awhile imo
Posted by shane j montgomery at May 21, 2006 01:04 PMGreat shot. Fantastic reflection, composition and colours.
Posted by thukai at May 21, 2006 05:05 PMi like this one...nice...
Posted by Marius Muscalu at May 21, 2006 08:05 PMNice colors, like the green fence and chaotic ground.
Posted by phoric at May 22, 2006 01:46 PMLovely reflexion. The way you composed the photo whith this big puddle just under your feet. It seems to tell a story.
Posted by Vitor at May 22, 2006 08:06 PMGreat reflection...very vivid red/orange brick colors. That sky is great, too! Cool shot.
Posted by DeWaun at May 24, 2006 11:47 AMVery nicely balanced shot. Simpley amazing
