This is such a strong image. It may only be 28,864 bricks to some people but the overall effect is terrific just by scale alone. A classic.
Posted by AG at May 16, 2006 02:36 AMnow that's a lot of bricks!
Posted by ben at May 16, 2006 03:12 AMWhat a find! Dont think there will be anything there anytime soon either. That gantry does not look too sturdy.
Posted by ROB at May 16, 2006 03:17 AMlol... leaves quite a lot to the imagination
Posted by Susie at May 16, 2006 05:28 AMgreat shot! the negative space works beautifully.
Posted by Serena at May 16, 2006 05:45 AMCome down! I am hungry!
Posted by Harlequinpan at May 16, 2006 06:03 AMsorry but i am disappointed in this one. it lacks the punch of your normal shots.
Posted by Jesse at May 16, 2006 06:14 AMInteresting image; your eyes can't help but follow the lines up to the scaffolding.
Posted by Robert at May 16, 2006 06:23 AMWow and there's no distortion.
Posted by moostive at May 16, 2006 07:40 AMYou're getting a lot of mileage out of the new wide-angle lens!
I like the shot: very modernistic.
Posted by Jack Bush at May 16, 2006 07:44 AMFantastic. Absolutely stunning!
Posted by Joe at May 16, 2006 08:19 AMGenius, I wish sometimes I could see the world like you.
Posted by Reza at May 16, 2006 08:33 AMsimple.. but still thought provoking... i kept on looking at this shot for more than 5 min!
Posted by aashish at May 16, 2006 08:55 AMumm... ok...
Posted by Isaac at May 16, 2006 10:10 AMWhat texture.
Isn't it astonishing how a brick wall can look like worn woven fabric?
Astonishing to see man's industry - brick-for-brick.
The weaving mason.
The man's knitting club convened and left their clay kilim calling card
thoughts on this drizzley day : )
Congratulations on your categorical weblog wins, and excellent to see your CONTACT work at Harbourfront.
Keep up what you do best.
Off the top one might think you're loosing it, but I can see what stopped you. A "What?" reaction.
Looks like there might have been a large ad sign hanging there which either fell off or has been removed - by the gantry crew?
Reprise of the brick yard purpose?
Posted by Hugh Petrie at May 16, 2006 11:08 AMThat's the Molson building. Its gonna go down early. I looks pretty cool inside...
Posted by Kathy at May 16, 2006 11:23 AMi'm getting stoned! Superb... so full but also empty.
Posted by javga at May 16, 2006 11:33 AMI love this billboard. I only wish more billboards were like this one.

Posted by niusha at May 16, 2006 12:07 PMDid they brick over a bunch of windows? I love these tall images of yours that I have to scroll to see the hole thing. Always a surprise to find at the end.
Posted by micki at May 16, 2006 02:34 PMFabulous shot. The detail is impressive.
Posted by Chris at May 16, 2006 02:51 PMThis kind of shot does not usually work for me. This one does. Thanks for sharing it.
Posted by Trey at May 16, 2006 04:44 PMI love it, no idea why! But i think it's brilliant
Posted by Steve at May 16, 2006 06:46 PMWhere were you in relation to the building? It seems quite high up, and I was just curious as to whether you're in another building across the way, or maybe up a ladder? Thanks in advance for answering, if you do. It's a great shot. :)
Posted by curious at May 16, 2006 07:26 PMFirstly I couldn't see you image! I have adblock on firefox and some default plugins (filterG or something) filter out images with "ad" in the name.
This image has that :@
As for the image? I'm not sure! its interesting... but I think it would proabably have more impact on a larger scale
Posted by JD at May 16, 2006 07:27 PMJD: my adblock did the same. but that is rare and i usually just fire up IE to see it if i have to. :)
Posted by qiang at May 17, 2006 12:25 AMHas the look of a Gursky composite.....love it Sam....nice work.
Phil
I also cant see the image... dont use ad in the image name next time sam! P.S your image of the puddle for the next day is a work of genius, you lucky guy!
Posted by Adjam at May 17, 2006 10:26 PMThe contrast is fantastic, and great, deep red in thr brick. Nice shot!
