hey man, nice shot!

Posted by tee at May 12, 2006 04:30 AM

It's been raining a lot also in my city these past few weeks.. And i love rain..

Maybe that's how I love this photo very much..
I can really feel the weather through this shot of just a part of the vehicle...

I always wait for your new photo every day, Sam!
Cheers :)

wow what a strong blue / cyan color. i like the color but i would like to see the whole car :)

Posted by sushi at May 12, 2006 04:48 AM

wow at first glance I thought this was a dolphin. Amazing picture. I love the colour and the rain. Makes me wish it would rain here. It is currently very hot and sunny in Southampton UK

Posted by Vanella Mead at May 12, 2006 04:52 AM

Another great one. Kind of reminds me of Peter Gabriel's album cover, both motif-wise, colour-wise and in the overall feeling.

(I only wonder why the not-unusual sunset has been selected as a nominee for the picture of the year over pictures like this one - it is so much better and shows your original vision more than a sunset...)

This is just super awesome.. could you *please* allow a wallpaper-sized download for this?

Posted by Null Bit at May 12, 2006 05:47 AM

This is one realistic car shot. Awsome composition Sam

Posted by Jake at May 12, 2006 05:57 AM

Nice shot. It remembers me an old record by Peter Gabriel, don't you?

Posted by Astigmatic at May 12, 2006 05:59 AM

The drops on the car look so great! Good capture.

Have a great weekend!

Posted by Chantal at May 12, 2006 06:48 AM

wow i love how blue and viabrant the colour is
great shot (:

Posted by christine at May 12, 2006 06:50 AM

wow. this is of advertisement quality.

Posted by Jesse at May 12, 2006 06:51 AM

Interesting how you have made something special out of the everyday here. And not much of a day, either. Quality image, too.

Posted by AG at May 12, 2006 06:55 AM

Cool and classy! I like the colour and lines.
Great cropping on this Sam, it gives my eye enough places to go but keeps things tight enough
to make this a bold graphic image. Good job!
I've been visiting your sight daily since I saw
your exhibit at Contact (2 years ago?) Paris Toronto images.

Posted by Rob N at May 12, 2006 07:03 AM

Brilliant shot!

Posted by Kris at May 12, 2006 07:26 AM

Very cool shot. The drops are wonderful and so are the colors.

Posted by AirBete at May 12, 2006 07:42 AM

Sam, you have an uncanny ability to steal a picture out of nothing. I was reluctant yesterday to even take my camera out in the rain!

Posted by Michael at May 12, 2006 07:50 AM

Slick! Cool color!

Posted by Laurie at May 12, 2006 08:10 AM

Cool crop. Love the detail in the rain droplets. Have a great show! Wish I were in T.O.

Posted by Daniel Seguin at May 12, 2006 09:05 AM

This photo is somewhat reminiscent of Peter Gabriel's first album (1977, I or Car, wet car cover)

Posted by Nardo Polo at May 12, 2006 09:25 AM

I love this shot.

Posted by abhi at May 12, 2006 10:02 AM

It reminds me a Peter Gabriel Album.

Great picture.

Reminds me of a Peter Gabriel album cover.

Posted by Tim Boniface at May 12, 2006 11:15 AM

Reminds me of the cover of Peter Gabriel's first album. Same blue car and rain, but different angle. Nice.

Posted by darren at May 12, 2006 11:23 AM

A real beauty!!
Its one that one (don't you just love the english language!lol)could look at for a long time. Thanks Sam.

Posted by shula at May 12, 2006 11:27 AM

Wow. Fantastic shot. Is it a Corvette?

Posted by Martin at May 12, 2006 11:43 AM

Love it - colour, texture, everything! Brightens up a rainy day.

Posted by Linz at May 12, 2006 12:37 PM

This isn't rain on a car. This is sweat glistening off an athlete. A cool, smooth, powerful body of steel. I can imagine moving my fingers over it, the water makes a squeaking sound, i look around to make sure the owner isn't near by.

Okay, so it's rain on a car. Maybe in my next life I'll have a car that's as cool as this one. I think I'm actually drewling.

Posted by Francine at May 12, 2006 12:40 PM

Good luck with the opening tonight!

Posted by micki at May 12, 2006 12:54 PM

Excellent. Perfect image.

Posted by Tomasz at May 12, 2006 01:19 PM

Lovely work with the contrast and saturation on this one.. also love the sharpness to it!

Would have been nice to see more of its environment in the shot, but hey!

Posted by JD at May 12, 2006 02:06 PM

What a gorgeous colour. So slick!

Posted by Vivi at May 12, 2006 03:49 PM

Your being a graphic artist is showing. Whatever L82 is they owe you.

I absolutely love this photo.
The vibrant colours really bring out the rain wonderfully.

Posted by Stephanie at May 12, 2006 08:09 PM

I always pop by this site , most often without commenting, and there's always great pictures to enjoy. This is no exception. I really like the way all the elements come together: rain, glass, metal, to make a really appealing abstract kind of shot.

Posted by peter at May 13, 2006 01:36 AM

Every day your photos get better and better. I kept think this is perfect and the next day you top it! Thank you.

Posted by jean at May 13, 2006 02:13 AM

oh my god ...
what wide vision !!!

Posted by Silverboy at May 13, 2006 02:38 AM

Easily one of your best, or at least one of my favourites. Visual poetry.
A wallpaper version would be well used by all.

Posted by qoJ at May 13, 2006 08:28 AM

Coincidentally, that Peter Gabriel Record everyone mentions was recorded in Toronto.

Posted by MLM at May 13, 2006 02:43 PM

Yeah, where´s Pete?
Cool take... :)

Posted by Leonardo at May 13, 2006 10:12 PM

I love those circa 1980 Corvettes. Must be a boy thing, I will never own one, but still nice to dream.

Posted by ROB at May 14, 2006 12:42 AM

Posted by Rahul at May 15, 2006 10:36 PM

damn! and I thought I was a genius for flashing on the first Peter Gabriel cover... all that's missing is a face peering out from the windshield.

gorgeous details, sam, gorgeous.
