i love it.
All the feelings i have about toronto come out of that picture.
I can't really say why but that's the way it is.
Thanks for this one, it feels me with all the different feelings i have when i am there.
I can picture me walking down that street, which i love, by the way.
Posted by nicolas at April 27, 2006 04:12 AMwhat if the newspaper box guy needs to remove the boxes? :)
kind of expect a tall shot here so we see what happens with the building and glass
hey ho
Good composition, and funny colors too. Compliments ;)

Posted by Harlequinpan at April 27, 2006 05:56 AMi dare you to post a picture without symmetry, with out straight lines, with some irregularity in the geometry, without perfect 90 degree angles. i DARE you! haha. but i still like this image.
Posted by jesse at April 27, 2006 06:13 AMI like those newspaper machines..... you don't see them in europe.
Posted by Chantal at April 27, 2006 06:23 AMNice that you got the horizontal lines leveled.
Posted by Maran at April 27, 2006 06:42 AMThe bike fetish continues...
Posted by Jeremy at April 27, 2006 08:21 AMQuite an unusual shot, for me at least. There is not such thing as newspaper boxes here. Nice colours in this one.
Posted by ROB at April 27, 2006 08:28 AMNice shot and great lighting. Since Toronto is thinking of scrapping these boxes, this type picture may soon be a thing of the past.
I'm surprised the Sun allows all those boxes outside their door...lol
Add the numbers and what do you get?
Quebecors' id #.
And those newspaper boxes although make great backdrops for photos need to disappear.
Cheers Sam, Always a pleasure to view your site.

Posted by marty at April 27, 2006 09:20 AMThe newsboxes worship their god! All hail the printing press!
Posted by Dean at April 27, 2006 10:16 AMI like the photo, and I know you like bikes, but I find that the bike here detracts a bit from the overall effect. I think that without the bike, the newspaper boxes could be seen as somehow paying homage to their "forefather," the Gutenberg Press.
Posted by Allan at April 27, 2006 11:04 AMI like the juxtaposition of the newspaper boxes and illustration on the wall, and the contrast of their various colours with its one tone.
If Mayor Miller has his way, that happy jumble of boxes will soon be a thing of the past, replaced with one clean-looking box holding only six papers.
Posted by talk talk talk at April 27, 2006 11:23 AMSuch a wonderfully pleasing shot, the colors are fabulous. The whole image is quite cheery with the great lighting and even the three 3's on the address plate.
Posted by micki at April 27, 2006 12:30 PMnice! the sunshine makes it good!
Posted by Alan Sham at April 27, 2006 12:47 PMI think the title should be: "newspaper boxes locked to a red bike in front of toronto sun's building on king street east."
Posted by Chris at April 27, 2006 01:01 PMBeautiful, vivid shot. I like it.
Posted by Tomasz at April 27, 2006 01:43 PMgreat!
fantastic colors and composition.
very colourful and bright..genuine
Posted by maya cassis at April 27, 2006 08:14 PMSo many newspaper boxes, just like in Winnipeg.
Great shot!
The die cut image of the Gutenberg Press, newspaper stands, and the mechanics of the bicycle all lend to an overall feeling. I can't place it, but it just works.
Posted by eric yang at April 27, 2006 10:39 PMIt's got a pretty sweet feel. It's a shame that there is no Dose box though...
Posted by Eloi at April 27, 2006 11:13 PMGreat picture, used to walk past those boxes on my way to work every day!
