No way.... I can't believe you keep seeing this guy. I wonder how many books he has read in his life. Does he know you've been posting photos of him?
Anyways... very nice photo... and I really like this guy.

Posted by Ninjaess at April 24, 2006 03:29 AM

Boy! That man REALLY loves to read!!! He's always reading in all of your photos!! :)

Posted by Naning at April 24, 2006 04:33 AM

WOW! its funny how people seem to cross paths so often in life! you sure your not stalking?

Posted by JD at April 24, 2006 05:30 AM

Cool photo! I noticed my favorite author, Stephen King is on the bestsellers' stand. Again )))

Anyway, about this guy. Do you think he's stalking you? LOL, or maybe he thinks something like "that crazy guy with a huge camera must be stalking me!!!"

Posted by Danny at April 24, 2006 06:55 AM

I am in the middle of Stephen King's the Cell. it's a pretty good read. :-P

An avid dedicated reader; this man!

The book you mentioned sounds great! I will have to check it out.

Cheers!

You're a stalker.

Posted by qoJ at April 24, 2006 09:23 AM

Have you met this guy in person? You should find out his name.

Posted by Big Ray at April 24, 2006 09:32 AM

I'm one of your blog's daliy visitors. You are a great photographer. I take picture too but not that great like yours...... I'm amazed that how you control the color and clarity. This one is ISO 800. How do you control the noise. Did you use Nest image or sometning? Keep up the great works. I'm watching you ;-)......

You must find out more about this person for some reason he intrigues. Than again maybe the mystery is what makes it so appealing. I do love his dedication to reading it is almost like he is oblivious to his surrounding whether sitting shirtless in the sun, bundled up where no one would sit for too long, or wearing bright yellow slippers in a bookstore.

I used to love World's Biggest Bookstore, then I found out Chapters/Indigo/Coles secretly bought them. Now I only shop at Book City and Pages.

Posted by rek at April 24, 2006 12:31 PM

hmmm, he seems to have trimmed his beard a bit since that OTHER picture of him you forgot to mention: http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/archives/photos_people/051207_1390.shtml (tractor man | December 07, 2005) ;)

Posted by teod at April 24, 2006 12:36 PM

If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have known there was a new Stephen King novel out :-)

Posted by Chris at April 24, 2006 12:44 PM

That is so funny! And my boyfriend always drags me to the World's Biggest Bookstore whenever we are in Toronto haha ;)

Posted by Jill at April 24, 2006 02:02 PM

Sooo cool! Funny that you saw him again. The rain must have driven him inside...

What a quality post. I just started my own photoblog, its "beta", until I design my own template and get some real webhosting...but it's not bad, and I've discovered I really enjoy the photoblogging experience.

Also, I've heard of this lady in the west end that can be found in a particular area reading a book on any given day.

Posted by A.R. at April 24, 2006 03:37 PM

I just can't stop laughing at Teod's post. :))

Posted by Ashkan at April 24, 2006 04:24 PM

Well... Did he know you ?
"hey, it seems i've already seen you"
Or maybe he didn't notice anything around him...?

Posted by Xas at April 24, 2006 05:51 PM

that is so cool! Did you ever say hi?

Posted by Sara at April 24, 2006 07:01 PM

I'm running to Pages right now to pick up "Create Your Own Photo Blog" and I'm not kidding either. My thanks go out to you and to Katherine Jamieson.

Posted by heathrow at April 24, 2006 07:14 PM

Why didn't YOU write the book?

Posted by modernmod at April 24, 2006 07:19 PM

what an enigma...you need to find out his story...

Posted by CET at April 24, 2006 07:23 PM

Ahh! My ideal reader!:)

Posted by Microwave at April 24, 2006 09:45 PM

I'm a lurker, but I had to comment on this 'un. The situation is just so "I Heart Huckabees"-esque.

He just has to be so full of stories and musings and intelligence. Is he reading a book on Capote? Looks like the film poster.

Posted by Kendall at April 24, 2006 10:46 PM

That book looks really good. I'm quite inspired to redesign my photo blog so it doesn't look like a candy store! Not that there's anything wrong with bright colours in moderation.
Did you have to enhance the yellow in this pic or did it just happen that way?

Posted by kristarella at April 25, 2006 03:18 AM

Just goes to show you - that there's more depth to a person than can be imagined... obviously as much as he loved books - there's more than that... look at his watch.... if I'm not mistaken - that's a Citizen Promaster dive watch. One of Citizen's top dive watches (I think there's only one or two better). Not only can you dive in it - but it logs depth and temperature that can be uploaded to a computer. Only a serious diver would bother with such a watch ($ is pretty high - I think maybe around $800 but I could be wrong).
Then again - maybe I'm wrong about the watch - maybe it's not the one I think it is at all.
;-)

Fantastic!
Sam! you have detective eyes!

Posted by Mahmoud at April 25, 2006 09:53 AM

Is it always the same book he is reading?

Posted by mykodachrome at April 25, 2006 10:55 AM

So yellow! Funny that you saw him after all this time. Great candid shot!
