Beautiful, Sam!!

Wow. Stunning.

Thanks so much for your work. On days like today such things are a real boost.

Amazing colours.. Did you think about croping it to botton 60%.. I think it looks better that way.

It must have rained heavily.

Those minarets are building or group of trees?

Sunset or sunrise!?! Whatever it is, it's BEAUTIFUL! I always find your street photography very interesting and perfectly captured. But when I see something like this I just have to say something. Nature is my favorite scenery and you did a city/nature combo job here as the sky is a big part of nature. This is absolutely gorgeous Sam!

Fantastic photo Sam! This site inspired me to buy my first SLR in january, and what with Oxford being my home town, it's great to see photos like this to work towards!

The spires of religion and the spires of industry side by side.

Spooky yet beautiful!

Amazing shot, Sam! I love the bright colors that contast the very dark ones on the top and bottom. What time of day was this taken at?

Posted by Khadeeja at April 21, 2006 10:37 AM

Well, other that the fact I think it reminds me of Mordor, this sky is amazing. Great capture.

Posted by Daniel Seguin at April 21, 2006 11:11 AM

So much DEPTH! Really great shot, Sam.

Posted by Scott Murdoch at April 21, 2006 11:15 AM

Nice point of view and unbelievable artwork,
It is really touch my heart.

Posted by harlequinpan at April 21, 2006 01:52 PM

Simply beautiful landscape photo! You've done a great job of capturing the "golden hour" of the day. Nice framing also on the bottom--the city in silhouette really helps to ground this image and give it a sense of weight.

Posted by Timothy Gray at April 21, 2006 01:54 PM

The shift in cloud color from the blue at top to gold at horizon is almost unbelievable. I would not have thought to paint such a sky and have it viewed as even remotely realistic.

Nice, Sam.

Posted by Hugh Petrie at April 21, 2006 02:11 PM

That sky looks simply magical.

Posted by Elissa at April 21, 2006 02:20 PM

Sorry I ran out of adjectives. I like the transition of colors and the hypnotizing power of the horizon.

Posted by Carlos at April 21, 2006 02:23 PM

re: Sean's observation of 'spires of religion & spire of industry'...

It is my feeling Sam accurately captured them in their diminutive perspectives & stations.

They hardly compare to all that has always been there.

Posted by Fiona at April 21, 2006 02:47 PM

It is a great shot Sam, you got it. we have some wonderful sunsets/sunrises here in the uk. But it takes "jolly foreiner" to point it out in such an inspiring picture.brilliant.(please excuse grammer)

Posted by Mark Ellis at April 21, 2006 03:22 PM

Great shot, taking pictures of clouds is one of my favorite things to do. It's always feels good when you can capture clouds with this kind of color gradient.

Posted by Casey at April 21, 2006 04:22 PM

wow, fantastic! :)

Posted by Rui at April 21, 2006 05:22 PM

The layered effect in your sky is great and I love the colours

Posted by howard Lask at April 21, 2006 05:57 PM

gorgeous sky - you've managed to capture miserable english weather when it looks beautiful!

Posted by CET at April 21, 2006 06:17 PM

WOW! Where were you when you shot this?

Posted by Mike at April 21, 2006 06:58 PM

Very interesting layers and tonal ranges... very nice capture.

Posted by Abe at April 21, 2006 07:13 PM

great shot, I can see why the comment about cropping off the top - BUT - I actually really like the way the darkness of the clouds at the top of the image mirrors the darkness of the land horizon. Love the image.

Hey TLP what happened to downtown. I'm sick of the lovely UK stuff. Do downtown, the grittier the better!
