Sam great shot as usual.
I’ve been a silent fan for over a year and I check your photos everyday. when I got back from Africa where I didn’t have any net connection I went through all the photos that were posted while I was away...
However, I have to say I like your older picture better... the ones where the colors are almost too good to be real. In addition to the creativity that shocked me everyday…
But all in all I gotta to take my hat of to you and I got to say you defiantly are the best photoblogger I have seen as of yet. as they say in S. Africa -brilliant!
Interesting shape and functionality for this chute?
Posted by Alfonso at April 16, 2006 09:00 AMReally like all the interestin this shot! The colors work well together.
Posted by micki at April 16, 2006 09:52 AMInteresting! How do you find these locations in Toronto?!
Posted by Mahmoud at April 16, 2006 11:51 AMFirst Post! WOO HOO.
As far as the pic... an asymmetrical chute and graffiti. It really captures the incredible chuteness and graffitiness of the scene.
Posted by K at April 16, 2006 12:03 PMCrud! Egad! What crud! I wonder how long the hole in the wall has existed? The graffiti is hardly an eyesore on this wall - though I'm not usually a graffiti lover.
A very interesting social comment, Sam. Love it.

fab shot... trying to picture it at its location.
theres actually a brickwork series up in a new gallery in the west end... i believe its name is One Zed Two. ;)
Whoa! Whoever's inside the building better keep that little window shut! No telling what might come hurtling through the window at any moment from the chute!
Thanks for your pics, your dedication, your skill, your creativity, your humanity. I love your work. It's a rare day when I do not visit your site to see what new creative egg you have hatched :-).

Posted by Katharine at April 17, 2006 01:09 PMI know this wall! Great shot, as per the usual!
Posted by Kari Gignac at April 17, 2006 01:41 PMLove the subject matter - it isnt often covered by photographers
Posted by Andy [fotopromenade] at April 18, 2006 04:09 AMCool! Looks like someone made a make-shift window by chopping through layers of bricks.
Posted by phoric at April 18, 2006 11:37 AMThis is an interesting capture of a big-city building in disrepair (I like the grittiness of stuff like this), and a funny storyline written on the wall. Very cool!
Posted by Abe at April 22, 2006 03:32 AMYou've made my day - this was quite random! I'm glad you liked my fill-in enough to capture it.
Excellent photography by the way, I'm very impressed with your blog. PS >> I love Burtynsky too
