IT WAS A_M_A_Z_I_N_G !
Echoes.... Echoes .... Echoes... I'm speechless.... if any of you have a chance to watch the show, just do it ... Don't miss it . Once again : Echoes
Posted by Ninjaess at April 11, 2006 02:25 AMCool! I'm a huge fan too!! I just missed out on tickets here in Holland.
Is Gilmour ex member by the way? I though they officially are members of Pink Floyd. Did you get any clearer shots?
Posted by VG at April 11, 2006 02:28 AMYou lucky b*****d! I still havent gotten round to listening to his latest album (which a friend tells me isnt great, but I dont believe that can be true).
Great shots.
Nice shot!!! i really like the way it flows!
Posted by Dave at April 11, 2006 03:09 AMReally like the top one, even with the noise. Grainy, gritty, just like the music.
Bottom one is surprisingly crisp for both the light, the shutter speed and of cause handheld. Well shot.
Posted by ROB at April 11, 2006 03:14 AMSam I'm jealous I'd love to see Dave Gilmour. The pictures as well as his new CD are amazing.
Such a feeling of power from them.
Posted by Vanella Mead at April 11, 2006 03:23 AMthis noise above is artificial, right? seems a bit too much for me.. the other photo is great though
Posted by moritz at April 11, 2006 04:18 AMbeautiful, and i wish i could've been there to hear gilmour play :)
Posted by jan at April 11, 2006 05:14 AMGreat shots. Absolutely brilliant.
I've got Gilmour's album and it's amazing. I can't say he is my favourite member of Floyds as I have seen Waters on stage and he was nothing less. Listening to all his solo albums I found him the core of the group and the brain behind those great songs. But who can forget Gilmour's guitar and who can forget these brilliant shots.
Give us more of them, I'm sure nobody will be bothered to see David Gilmours Concert's shots by Sam Javanrouh, isn't it right guys?
Great photos! Can you post more from Dave's gig?
Posted by Maciej at April 11, 2006 07:30 AMVery good capture of the ambiance
I especially love the graininess of the top photo. I bet it was a great show.
Posted by Alice at April 11, 2006 08:04 AMwow... they let you in with your camera? cool.
Posted by ryan at April 11, 2006 08:28 AMWow, lucky you... A document!
Posted by Pierre at April 11, 2006 08:34 AMLazers and Pink Floyd, what more can you ask for? Well actually...
Posted by Daniel Seguin at April 11, 2006 09:02 AMat first i thought that the first was like ISO1,000,000 but i was surprised. how did you get that much light from such a short exposure? and why is there so much noise?
Posted by aaron the bold at April 11, 2006 09:19 AMLove it. Pink Floyd is one of my favourite bands. The green laser rays are great on the second pic.
Posted by Sanjin at April 11, 2006 09:28 AMAnd you could bring your camera in? Nice!
Posted by Sean Galbraith at April 11, 2006 09:41 AMwow... the grainy one is my favourite. my first impression was: "hey, a grunge band." The second one is more Pink Floydish, with the green lasers.
Posted by javga at April 11, 2006 09:55 AMLike the treatment on the top photo. Really nice.
Posted by A thinker at April 11, 2006 10:18 AMI am SO envious!!!!
Pink Floyd is/was one of the greatest bands ever.
And Mr Gilmoure is probably one of the top 5 all time greatest.
i can't begin to express how awesome that is.
Posted by olya at April 11, 2006 10:26 AMThe second one is beautiful, not a fan of the first though.
Posted by Azhar at April 11, 2006 10:37 AMI like the addition of the noise on the 1st foto - I often do the same. In this case the white specs look very good.
I just noticed you used an SD300 - it worked well for both fotos. It's nice to carry something that small once in a while.
I like the composition and colors on the bottom foto, very cool.
Posted by Abe at April 11, 2006 11:53 AMI am SOOOO beyond jealous! Ahhh...the memories of my youth!
The nice thing is, all my kids LOVE Pink Floyd.
These are awesome!
Posted by Laurie at April 11, 2006 12:01 PMI love the second picture the straight beam or light, looking through other photos there are some great shots.
Posted by god Ramirez at April 11, 2006 01:56 PMpost moreeeee, please
Posted by john at April 11, 2006 03:46 PMThe photos are great as always. Have a cigar...
Posted by A.R. at April 11, 2006 04:17 PMI really like the contrast between these two images!
Posted by micki at April 11, 2006 05:54 PMNice shots.. thanks for posting these.. I think David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright can still use 'Pink Floyd' name.. its only Roger Waters who is officially 'ex Pink Floyd'.. (but they performed in live8 together).
Posted by Jeet at April 11, 2006 09:11 PMWow. Nice pics.
I'm going to Dave G's concert here in San Francisco Bay Area on April 16th. This is a great appetite whetter!
Like others, I'm surprised you were able to take your camera in. I might try sneaking in my Casio Excilim...
the first photo looks like an old newspaper cutting reminding me of the good old Pink Floyd
Posted by Susie at April 12, 2006 04:02 AMWell Sam, It seems that everybody liked these pics. The ideas might be a bit differnet on whihc one is the best but I think everybody agrees to have more picture of this CONCERTE. So why are you waiting?
Somebody used the word gig for David's performance which I think can not be a good term as his performance is not an oppening or just a competetion, even though, it can not be called a gig.
David Gilmour is over fifty, done his job, had his records and reputation with Pink Floyd + or -Roger Waters and this is one of the greatest things can happen every other odd years that somebody like him records a solo album and have a tour of concertes. Although his tour has not been in UK yet(or have I missed it?????), but his album was top of the charts for some time here and Pink's fans are still supporting their favourite band.
Well, what I really regret and I think everybody else would agree with is the fact that on Pink Floyds peek days 1. There was no digital cameras and 2. You were so young that you could not take their pictures. If the world could have another Pink Floyd, only if....
I was at the concert on the 9th.
AMAZING!!!
And for the camera, of course on the ticket it was written "No Camera", but on 2400 persons in the theater there was probably 1000 cameras!! Counting the Cell Phone and the PDA cameras.
If I had know... I had bring my DSLR too....

Posted by Thierry Leveque at April 13, 2006 01:29 PMAwsome photo's! I am so jealous I really wanted to see him when he tours the UK. The tickets were sold out before I had a chance to buy some.
Posted by Paul Woolrich at April 13, 2006 04:34 PMDid he have a UK tour? When? oh my god, I'll kill myself if it's true.
Posted by Payam Nikdast at April 14, 2006 09:05 AMYour photos are great - always enjoy them. PF is my all time favorite. Don't know if the Echos tour is headed for Japan tho (live in Okinawa). Last saw PF at the Division Bell concert in so. Calif.
