Lovely photo.
Posted by Nils Jorgensen at April 8, 2006 03:38 AMI like this one! It feels sort of ironic and I can't help but wonder If the plastic is there to protect them from us or us from them. Either way, their trying to get out!
Posted by Johan at April 8, 2006 04:21 AMlooks a bit freakish.. as if they were trying to get out
Posted by Susie at April 8, 2006 04:52 AMWow, such an absurd way to see something like that.
Really cool shot.
One concept springs to mind: "Instant Religion: Perforate plastic with fork, Microwave on High for 3 minutes. Let stand for 1 minute"
Posted by ryan at April 8, 2006 05:24 AMThat is a really beautiful photograph. The plastic modernizes the religious sculpture. Or maybe it is a metaphor... how plastic (i.e. oil) has covered our world, our views, our atmosphere. Maybe I am overanalyzing this... Great job Sam!
Posted by Vanessa at April 8, 2006 06:33 AMNice find, Sam. I love the creepiness about this ...
Posted by Jay at April 8, 2006 07:27 AMShades of Cristo!
Lovely to have caught it!
H
wow. the plastic wrap technique in real life :D
this image has 'something' about it, but i just can't say exactly what it is
Crazy cool capture! Not something you see everyday. Nice one.
Posted by Daniel Seguin at April 8, 2006 09:17 AMThats beautiful. A great find.
Take care-
Mark
Makes for a nice picture but wont the plastic sheeting conserve humidity and damage the art-work?
(Too much CSI?)

sam,
this one's timely, it being lent, pesach, easter round the bend, plus all this judas bizness of late.
you also return the shroud of turin to top of mind with tdoay's image, instead of a shroud, it's plastic wrap!

Now that's magical. Easy to see why you took it.
So, if you're Moslem as some things might indicate, and considering what Afghans wanted to do to one of their own for switching to Christianity, does it bother you to go into a church and do this? Perphaps I'm getting too personal.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at April 8, 2006 03:51 PMنسبتآ جالب شده
از پایین کمی کراپ می خواهد و نور پردازی خوب نیست.کمی هم باید ادیت می شد.زیاد نمی شه روش حساب کرد. مفهوم چیه؟
Quite possibly the strangest thing i've seen. A plastic wrapped jesus.
Posted by Ben Kennedy at April 8, 2006 04:46 PMThat's quite a comment on the current event, Easter.
I like it! An unusual find.
Posted by George Dunbar at April 8, 2006 07:17 PMSome of my best moments feel as though they have been shrink-wrapped for posterity too.
Posted by Bernie Goldbach at April 9, 2006 03:09 AMGreat! Think, that by this wrapping religion is kept cool and fresh till Judgement DAY.
On the other hand something fragile and touching about this picture.
My God! That's so nightmarish... like the figures are going to rip straight through the plastic and devour us...

I don't think your comment is personal, just out of line - Sam is not responsible for every muslim country's actions just like every christian is not responsible for the actions of USA/UK in Iraq
and just because Sam is from Iran it does'nt mean he is a muslim - christians, zoroastrians, jews - many religions are alive and well in iran
great photo sam - i think the plastic makes the original artwork even more interesting
Posted by sami jan at April 10, 2006 03:45 AMGreat picture.
Posted by Ioannis at April 10, 2006 09:45 AMWow - eerie!
Love this one, Sam.
Wow! Jesus under wraps. A symbol wrapped in a symbol.
Posted by Fraser at April 10, 2006 10:20 PMGreat eye to cature this one, Sam - it's very interesting. Nice and sharp.
Posted by Abe at April 11, 2006 01:24 AMBrilliant.. art in a bag.
Posted by eterisk at April 12, 2006 05:52 AMWow...this is one of the most unusual yet amazing pictures I've seen. The plastic wrap creates a very surreal effect. It's awesome. :)
Posted by Kiana at April 13, 2006 01:18 PMI really love this one. It makes me feel like they're ghosts or they're from another world and are trying to get into ours.
