Well...
I would marry her =) Just because of the nice picture.

just so so.

This is different than most of the images you post on your site. A very welcome change. Great shot

Posted by Navin Harish at March 31, 2006 04:51 AM

sam, nice background, but not enough light variation on her face.

Posted by kolos at March 31, 2006 05:03 AM

Glossy magazine material. Have a great weekend!

Posted by Chantal at March 31, 2006 05:11 AM

stunning shot sam! the background and the light skin are great together, it's very good. the composition is original too. what else can i say? i keep being amazed about your work and learn so much every day by logging in to your site. thanks!

All that a bride should be: demure, pure and beautiful

Posted by john at March 31, 2006 07:29 AM

this is wonderful.

Posted by rabsteen at March 31, 2006 08:26 AM

Hi,

I think this photo could be improved if you dark it a little, agree?

I) like the pose, but i would prefer see the look at the camera.

Posted by Mário Ferreira at March 31, 2006 08:29 AM

i have freckles on my shoulders too. you should take more pictures like this (of people). i think it looks so great and i love the background colour.

Posted by Donna at March 31, 2006 08:43 AM

so great.

Posted by istoica at March 31, 2006 08:46 AM

You did a good job with the lighting. It's clean and even.

Posted by RyanT at March 31, 2006 08:57 AM

Nice dress, very simple... She is also very adorable.

Posted by Moeview at March 31, 2006 09:26 AM

one of my favorite photos you've posted on here sam. it's a gorgeous portrait that evokes all kinds of emotions.

Posted by vasta at March 31, 2006 09:29 AM

Excellent.

Posted by Mojtaba at March 31, 2006 09:30 AM

Gorgeous! It's a nice difference from the usual ddoi stuff. . .

Posted by A thinker at March 31, 2006 09:31 AM

A beautiful, but younger, Sandra Bullach(?)

Posted by floridora at March 31, 2006 09:44 AM

Splendid portrait, Sam!
This seems a radical departure from what we are used to seeing on DDoI, but still with the same photographic excellence. That kind of versatility amazes me; to jump from genre to genre so nimbly is rather unusual, I think. In Ride My Pony I have seen a similar adaptability.
It must require a broader perception, and wider appreciations, to break away from the usual and maintain the same capabilities.
Well done, Sam, and thanks for sharing.

A beautiful, clear, portrait Sam.
Her eyes and mouth make me think of Audrey Hepburn doing her role as a fashion model in the movie "Funny Face".

Posted by Henry at March 31, 2006 10:17 AM

OMG! She's GORGEOUS!

Posted by Bob at March 31, 2006 10:27 AM

WHAAAT?! A PERSON?! A real live person? I didn't think you knew any people, Sam. I thought you were all city streets and buildings.

Nice change of pace, and a great shot. The detail and crispness is great, yet her skin looks soft at the same time. Nicely done.

Posted by Scott Murdoch at March 31, 2006 10:53 AM

A very pleasant change. A porcelain doll - in the flesh.

Posted by Hugh Petrie at March 31, 2006 10:56 AM

great background colour.. and the camera seems to be stealing a glance into a very private moment of that girl, as if she was oblivious of the camera.. (which made me feel like an intruder the first time I looked at that photo).

Posted by Susie at March 31, 2006 11:21 AM

This is a great photo, it has a real impact. I really like the contrast between the funeral-ish veil and the wedding dress. Excellent composition.

Posted by Jen at March 31, 2006 11:25 AM

Is she a cadaver? With the pallid complexion and black veil she seems to mourning her own demise.

Posted by Kevin at March 31, 2006 11:47 AM

Quite a range of comments on this one! I really like this shot, although I'm not one who is that into portrait photography. A lovely model!

Posted by Dave MacIntyre at March 31, 2006 01:01 PM

Very, very beautifull!! This became great with this green background! :D

Posted by Roberta at March 31, 2006 01:27 PM

The model is very attractive with absolutely beautiful skin, but for some reason I'm not a fan of this picture either. It just seems a little too contrived, if that makes sense :/

Posted by Jill at March 31, 2006 01:27 PM

What a wonderful change of pace today. This is a beautifully done portrait!

Posted by micki at March 31, 2006 01:29 PM

is she going to a wedding or funeral??... anyhow i know that is how designers think.. out of the box.. i like her designs yet.. your friends site needs updated.. i would love to see more of her work.

Posted by chrissy at March 31, 2006 03:58 PM

it's good to change it up every once in a while!

Posted by Ige Egal at March 31, 2006 07:03 PM

THe composition makes the subject look tilted but unbalanced. A 3d subject seems so flat with the lighting. not interesting at all.

Posted by Boreo at March 31, 2006 10:51 PM

It's good that you are posting different types of photos Sam. As for this model, I find her freckles on her arm to be overly distracting. While it might go overboard, I would consider photoshopping some of her more noticeable freckles out.

Posted by Hazelbrae at April 1, 2006 12:12 AM

Great portrait, Sam! Excellent background color choice and lighting.

Posted by Abe at April 1, 2006 12:43 AM

its a ginger. hahaha or a daywalker.

Posted by hdfg at April 1, 2006 01:29 AM

I bet some brush work in Photoshop could get rid of those freckels... they look out of place. Appreciate that you didn't though, I like to see pictures without edits.

Posted by Luis at April 1, 2006 01:45 AM

Hi Sam,

Nice contrast in this picture...the woman in the picture is stunning in her simplicity...I simply love the fair skin differentiating betweent he background. Nice work!

Posted by Dave at April 2, 2006 01:46 AM

This is a really nice studio shot! I need to work on my portraits some more. I might have an opportunity to do something like this soon as my mum is also a fashion designer and has her own lingerie company.

Posted by Paul Woolrich at April 2, 2006 10:25 AM

Sorry. . .disturbed by some of the comments about photoshopping out this girl's freckles. This is a real woman, folks. Let's fight the culture of perfectionism that does, indeed, airbrush out models' "imperfections" (read: realities) and forces a unified image of almost inhuman flawlessness on us. Great work, Sam. I'm glad you didn't touch those freckles.

Posted by A thinker at April 3, 2006 12:26 PM

I think her freckles ARE part of HER PERFECTION... without them she would just be another one of "those" cookie cutter models.
I am happy to see them!!!

Posted by chrissy at April 3, 2006 04:56 PM

I agree the freckles are great and shouldn't be photoshop'ed out. They also add some great texture.

Posted by Jen at April 6, 2006 06:38 PM

Very lovely shot.
