Cool photo! Quite the collection of different people. :)
Posted by phoric at March 23, 2006 02:36 AMfeel so good.
Posted by dollar[CHN] at March 23, 2006 02:39 AMWow! So nice. Old good times. I like the slight sepia cast to it.
Posted by Tom from (Lucerne Times) at March 23, 2006 04:27 AMCool hat on that guy (3rd person from the left)! neat photo. Looks like the public hangout or is there a bus stop sign I'm not seeing?
Posted by DeWaun at March 23, 2006 08:39 AMA great picture. Everyone is lost in their own world. We stand and wait and barely notice each other or talk to each other these days.
Posted by Mike at March 23, 2006 09:25 AMThis is a really crisp B&W conversion. It almost looks like there is still a very small touch of color in it. The sign in the middle seems to have a very slight hint of red in it. Very cool looking shot.
Posted by Nate at March 23, 2006 09:51 AMI really like the almost harsh contrast on this shot. Strong black and white with muted gray scales works well in some shots...this is one of them.
Posted by Dave MacIntyre at March 23, 2006 09:56 AMLove this shot, great choice for b&w.
To me the sunshine suggests an activity packed summery day, but the shadows tell how low the sun is, and the scarfs and jackets how cold it is.
So then we just have these people that are a little out of the ordinary for sitting and standing in the cold, and it looks great.
What are they waiting for?
Posted by Jess at March 23, 2006 10:21 AMStark! Cold! Strange! I can't smell the perfume. Have no money to change or buy a gift. Next!
Posted by Hugh Petrie at March 23, 2006 10:31 AMwow, neat picture. looks like a scene from a movie.
Posted by mel at March 23, 2006 10:45 AMI think I like the fact that this image is black and white compared to some of your other street images. With the lighting, it almost looks like an old photo. Kinda cool.
Posted by Carl B. Constantine at March 23, 2006 10:46 AMThe black and white exalts the contrasts that increase with simple geometry of the photo. Indeed beautiful.
Posted by Vittorino at March 23, 2006 11:11 AMImagine our life without a road to shoot across
Posted by j at March 23, 2006 11:31 AMoh, gosh, I miss the city. . .thanks for the glimpses of "home".
Posted by A thinker at March 23, 2006 11:36 AMThey are waiting for the St. Patrick's day parade.
Posted by Dan at March 23, 2006 12:07 PMWhy are they wearing those hats and sitting in chairs, hanging out on the sidewalk? There must be something going on I don't get. Kind of intriguing. Oh, and the maple leaves still seem to retain a hint of red to me :)
Posted by Susie at March 23, 2006 12:13 PMI especially like the tones to this shot.
Posted by micki at March 23, 2006 02:15 PMThis is great. I think it works really well in black and white.
Posted by Kamyar at March 23, 2006 02:23 PMThey all look like some figurines in a model town or something...
I like how the contrast appears deeper on the people than on the buldings, is this photoshop or just people in high contrast clothing?
Posted by JD at March 23, 2006 02:38 PMI am here watching this picture for the third time...I´ll be back...:)
Posted by Jens at March 23, 2006 02:48 PMLooks like it's from the movies. Old documentaries or sth. wow :)
Posted by Peggy at March 23, 2006 03:01 PMThe sharpness and clarity of your photos always amaze me, Sam. I love the lighting and the sephia-like theme. Great capture.
