Comments: turquoise bag

Why that's not just any plastic bag... it's a "Marks and Spencer" bag - the store that defines Britain! They sell everything from food and drink to suits for business-people and big 'control' underpants for older ladies.

Classic.

Instantly recognisable as a famous Marks & Spencer (M&S) bag!!! One of the oldest & biggest department stores in Britian. I've been following your site for about a year now & love your eye for detail. Cheers for the inspiration!!

Nice colours, bleak feeling.

There's such a rich history to the architecture in Europe that we lack out here in the west. I love the texture to the bricks here.

Nice catch. The lady's pink matching the bass color of the image and the touch of green that goes with the small patch of mosaic infront of her. I'd be tempted to say you set it up if I didn't know your luck.

Interestingly this is a lot like many of your friend Kam's shots of his home town, Oxford, that he posts on his site.

And it's another shot of how elegance gets dirty and wears out - or takes a lot of upkeep. A very interesting building.

Brick buildings are still great photo subjects. But the girl walking across the building presents the contrast between the present and the past. Marvelous!

Haha, Marks and Spencer.

I REALLY enjoy that the title at the top doesn't match the mouseover title.
It makes me smile quite a bit. I enjoy the photos you take.

Behind that door stands a 6-foot monster, getting ready to devour a 5'11 lady. The sound of her heartbeat echoes in the air.

lol Marks and Spencers is far too expensive lol, but nice to see the bag on this site!

Such a small door, but such a big entrance...

the texture and color of the bricks is amazing.

Wow, I was freaking out after reading the comments. I must have gone on this page early, when Sam put up the wrong photo, and I'm sitting here staring at the screen looking for a woman in a pink sweater! All I saw was the building, no woman, no bag, just the building.

I refreshed the page, and there she is!

That's a really antique building with a really antique door that should is perhaps better suited to a little old alley, not a motorway.

Hi Sam,

I live in Oxford - and know this building well! Known the locals as "the mish", the basement is a cafe/hang out for teenagers. The rest of the building is accomodation - some friends of mine live upstairs!!

I have enjoyed seeing your take on our beautiful city - very refreshing...
