Fantastic image, I really like the look of smoke coming out of the helicopter, appears very dramatic!
Posted by Dean [Captured4Life] at March 13, 2006 03:56 AMIs there a wallpaper version of this photograph? :) the colors are beautiful.
Posted by ashwin at March 13, 2006 04:15 AMHow lucky was the timing to also include the jet on take-off. Simply stunning colours, but that goes without saying!
Posted by ROB at March 13, 2006 04:33 AMbeautiful!
Posted by alain at March 13, 2006 05:35 AMIts a superb shot, i also noticed an airplane on the far left.
Posted by Ashish Sidapara at March 13, 2006 05:37 AMVery sharp shot! The colors in the sky and the sillohuette lends great dramatic effect.
What a view you have.
I hope the person who required the air ambulance recovers.
Posted by L Jackson at March 13, 2006 05:56 AMbeautiful beautiful.
Posted by faustina at March 13, 2006 06:35 AMI thought I saw a puff of smoke coming out from the chopper but then I realised it was only the clouds. A helicopter against a city skyline - magnificent.
Posted by Sharon Y at March 13, 2006 07:31 AMBeautiful shot. The silhouettes look great against that beautiful sky.
Posted by Chris at March 13, 2006 08:13 AMWOW, the silhouette is amazing as is the skyline.
This truly is an amazing view.. all i have from my bedroom window is some trees :(

Cracking shot, the timing with the chopper and this gorgeous sunset is spot on....could also give the impression of a drop into a warzone or something too!
Posted by Rob at March 13, 2006 09:26 AMWow the sky's gorgeous! Though i wish whoever it is in the chopper didn't have to use the service, i must say that it came just in time to make this shot so interesting.
Posted by PlasticTV at March 13, 2006 09:37 AMsplendid oppurtunity grabbed n a wonderful result i see :)
Posted by prasoon at March 13, 2006 09:41 AMGreat orange color
Posted by Scarlet at March 13, 2006 09:51 AMI like this silhouette shot. The sky looks like it's on fire. Toronto pollution can make for some interesting colours.
Posted by Eleanor at March 13, 2006 10:46 AMwwwoooowwwww!!!!!
i can't believe this one!!!!
so amazing... the background almost look like a matte painting.
great job, as always.
thanks
Posted by nicolas at March 13, 2006 11:04 AMBrilliant colours. And so little (no) noise for ISO800!.
Posted by Vig K at March 13, 2006 11:15 AMClassic shot. Looks like it could be from a warzone or something. The colours are beautiful.
Posted by Justus at March 13, 2006 11:15 AMA superb photo, Sam. You likely could sell it to the air ambulance service for use in their publicity work. A very romantic shot of a serious subject.
You continually amaze me at your luck in being in the right place at the right time. God/Allah walks with you my friend.
And I might say that many people who go far afield to take pictures might, like you in this case, find that there are more subjects at their home than they can do justice to.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at March 13, 2006 11:20 AMI love the range of colors in the photo...it's so powerful and rich :)
Posted by Ghazal Samin at March 13, 2006 11:33 AMWhat a lovely shot right out your bedroom window! The timing was right on.

Posted by Tom from (p h o t o w a l l s) at March 13, 2006 03:27 PMFantastic composition and such warm colors.
I also live near a hospital and sometimes it's possible to see the air ambulance. I'm just waiting to have a decent long lens to try and capture a photo like this one. :-)
Posted by nuno f at March 13, 2006 05:07 PMExcellent Color. I'm not typically a big fan of silhouettes. But that is a really dramatic orange which I think makes this a great shot.
The small plane in the background also really adds depth.
Posted by richard at March 13, 2006 05:13 PMBeautifully Superb !
The colour of the sky is just unreal. Amazing shot.
Posted by Chris at March 13, 2006 05:55 PMif you remove the helicopter from the photo, fill in the hole created from the removal with similar colours as the rest of the sky, and leave everything else in the picture as is - it might still actually look very natural! Just a random idea ;)
Posted by Peggy at March 13, 2006 06:33 PMoh and i hope you don't mind, but i love your pictures so much i added you as a link on my blog. i want everyone who reads my blog (mostly family and friends) to see how beautifully you capture toronto, both the good and the bad.

Posted by p23e at March 16, 2006 07:36 AMThe silhouette of the helicopter looks great against the rich sky colour from the sunset.
Posted by Paul Woolrich at March 17, 2006 01:37 PMI have doubt that you'll have time to reply to thins, which is understood. But I still have to ask. "300D" ?? Typo or did you go buy a used one for backup? Awesome shot though. And great view.
