Great pattern and the warm tint on the punts is a nice touch. I think I would have cropped out the sky.
Posted by Jon at January 25, 2006 03:37 AMExcellent shot! What I enjoy more in this photo is the graduated green color to an almost sepia tone of the trees. It's like a natural degradée.
Posted by nuno f at January 25, 2006 04:13 AMI'v been there and on a boat with my aunt and my cousin last year. Oxford is pretty lovely, I hope to see some more pics?
Posted by Sandro at January 25, 2006 04:19 AMI like this one better than the "framed" one!
Posted by gabor at January 25, 2006 04:55 AMI just wanted to say that personally, there can't be too much toronto imagery, but then, what can I say, I'm a little ol' american. Also, oxford is beautiful. Great photos. You're quite talented. Been enjoying the daily dose, thanks.
Posted by Erin at January 25, 2006 04:56 AMHi, great framing, but i am not sure about the colours here. the shot looks like it was in full summer but the nearby trees are rather brown, while those further away are very green. Otherwise interesting photo.
Posted by Al at January 25, 2006 06:08 AMBeautiful composition!
Posted by Jonas Detarsis at January 25, 2006 07:32 AMVery nice, very crowded!
Posted by linz at January 25, 2006 07:50 AMOoh, this is a cool looking shot. All the subtle differences of each boat up the river. The short distance of the river/stream gives a neat vanishing point effect. Nice, indeed!
Posted by DeWaun at January 25, 2006 08:17 AMConsidering the fact that Montreal is currently getting dumped on by another snowfall, it's nice to see pictures where the ground isn't white.
Nice composition, I like this a lot.
Posted by sherry at January 25, 2006 09:32 AMThis picture is gay!
The boats are gay, Oxford is gay. Even look at the way the gay trees are lightly brushing the boats. Super gay. Now, I can't be one hundred percent sure, but I've swam in that water, and it said I had a nice ass. Now true, it could just be saying hey, I recognize a good ass when I see one even though I'm totally straight. But chances are. That water is wicked gay!
Coop.
P.s. I'm gay for writing this.
Posted by keith at January 25, 2006 09:52 AMYour best shot of recent memory, I think. Very striking and dynamic.
Posted by SampleSize at January 25, 2006 10:47 AMI'm chuckling at the thought of trying to have a romantic boat ride along here. With over 60 punts available it would be a tad crowded it seems.
At least they aren't high powered motor driven insanity - so I suppose we can close our eyes and pretent the others aren't there.
Egad! I'm 74. What am I thinking of ramantic boat rides for? But it's appealing.
This is one wide angle shot where barreling is not a factor it seems.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at January 25, 2006 11:38 AMThis is a very interesting shot. It has great continuance from the first row of boats and all the way up into the sky. I'm glad you chose not to crop this shot. It would have taken away from the flow of it.
Posted by D MacIntyre at January 25, 2006 12:34 PMSam,
So fantastic shot with great angle and composition.
Lop a good 1/6th off the top of the image and work with the color more and then we're talking...
Posted by Jandl at January 25, 2006 02:21 PMThis again?!
The first one was terrific, this one's redundant though.
If you're bored of Toronto imagery as I occasionally do aswell, why make a trip to small town Ontario?
Repetitions are very insteresting subject for excellent pictures. You made it well man!..great
Posted by mistralcolors at January 25, 2006 04:24 PMYou must have hung around quite a while. There are many more punts in this photo.
Posted by Kevin at January 25, 2006 05:57 PMIt's easy to say the composition is very good, and it is, but I'm drawn also to the neutral colors that make this scene even more realistic to me.
Posted by Abe at January 26, 2006 02:40 AMI dont think I could possibly get bored of your torronto shots. Then again, your oxford shots are wonderful also - you have made me want to go to both cities!
I like the tone of the shot, especially the browns at the bottom
Posted by Phil at January 26, 2006 04:29 PMExact words out of my mouth as the image downloaded... VERY cool!
