Good luck tomorrow, Break a leg, just don't break any lenses.

Awesome, its been a while since you've displayed such a great photo here..!

Yes, PTLens is a critical tool for the digital photographer. Even on lenses with "no" distortion it makes a difference.

Posted by Dean at January 23, 2006 02:11 AM

A perfect shot. Some of your pictures are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing them.

Posted by Mohsen Samakar at January 23, 2006 02:17 AM

Don't worry. You'll be fine. We have confidence in you! Go out and inspire some more people.

Thanks

Good Luck!

Posted by BOUCHENAKI at January 23, 2006 04:34 AM

Gorgeous shot. *_* Reminds me of a van Gogh, "Cafe Terrace" IIRC.

Posted by creaothceann at January 23, 2006 04:42 AM

Beautiful colors and the framing is perfect. Well done!

Posted by Chris at January 23, 2006 05:12 AM

God you’re gonna be on TV?!! That’s brilliant. I wish I could it.

Great shot! Man, I wish that pluggin was available for OS X!! Best of luck on that show!!

Posted by Dan :: genestho.ca at January 23, 2006 08:18 AM

This shot is absolutly amazing. It really gives a sense of "vericality"...

Posted by Vox at January 23, 2006 08:20 AM

Congrats on the 2006 Bloggies nomination. I'm sure some will agree you should have replaced Flickr in the photography category. That or they should rename the category to best photoblog. The fact that al are photoblogs with the exception of Flickr makes it an even more surprising list of finalists.

Anyway, I was just discussing the effects of barrel distortion yesterday and can't believe you posted a link to the plugin! It's kind of like having a dream Friday night that I was in the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and then actually seeing him Saturday afternoon at Barney's in Manhattan. =)

Finally, good luck tomorrow! I'll ask my girlfriend who lives in downtown Toronto to tape it.

Posted by Jonathan Greenwald at January 23, 2006 08:29 AM

Very Beautiful. I love the way the sky is lit up.

have u told Kim to watch?

Posted by negar at January 23, 2006 09:07 AM

wow, your aperture priority mode is much better than mine. if i program the camera at f/9, or any aperture value for that matter, the camera (G6) will only shot at a maximum of 1 second. time for a dslr!

Posted by Jesse at January 23, 2006 09:15 AM

Wow, that's one great looking shot. Love the vivid illumination below and the incredible deep blue night sky.

Posted by DeWaun at January 23, 2006 09:17 AM

Rockstar!!!

Posted by shahin at January 23, 2006 09:35 AM

SAM!

HAVE FUN tomorrow on TechTV - if you think about it, you "talk" to thousands of people daily on your blog. Your commentary on your photos is always succinct and displays your wit... so just an encouragement. Know who you are, know your strengths - BE YOU and you'll do fine!

All the best!
-Emily in T.O.

Good luck at TechTV & btw I forgot to thank you for adding [MooShot] to your links page, cheers.

Say Hi to Leo and Amber for me!

Have a great time and I look forward to seeing you on the show.

Hah! I think the plugin also made the CN Tower look stubby :P

Nice pic.

Posted by andrew at January 23, 2006 10:30 AM

Excellent. I'll setup the PVR to record. I see C4H listed at 1pm here on Rogers Digital in Toronto. I'm sure someone out there will be able to digitize it for others to check out as well.

Posted by Blaine at January 23, 2006 11:00 AM

Been there, climbed that!

My one and only trip across the "pond" included a visit to Toronto and of course a visit up the tower.

The view was magnificent.

I had previously been to NY and drank in the bar atop one of the 2 wtcs (which unfortunately dates the visit).

Posted by Robbo at January 23, 2006 11:34 AM

Too bad you weren't IN Roy Thomson Hall last night, Sam - you would have heard an absolutely FABULOUS performance by the Budapest Festival Orchestra! (Or were you there?)

Thanks for the beauteous shot of the Hall, the Tower and the blue-blue-blue night sky.

Posted by Kathy at January 23, 2006 11:53 AM

that is used to be my favorite tv shot until they got bought out by a different company and they no longer are showing here :( good luck and i will look for show noes from their web site :)

Posted by armeen at January 23, 2006 12:00 PM

congrats sam! someone please do record this and post a torrent or something cause as much as i'd like to bag work to watch i doubt i could get away with it.

Posted by schmee at January 23, 2006 12:09 PM

I don't think Call for Help will be live. They tape a months worth of shows all at once because the host lives in San Francisco so it could be weeks until your episode airs.

Posted by Stephen at January 23, 2006 12:14 PM

beautiful!

Posted by davidff at January 23, 2006 12:22 PM

Say hi to Leo and Amber for me.
I hope you can get a clip and post it on here after the show airs. Good luck!

Sam, you have dust on your sensor in the sky on the right side, just let you know.

Posted by Stephen Lynch at January 23, 2006 11:28 PM

Great shot - and thanks for the PTLens tip. I hadn't heard of it, and just downloaded it. After a quick run of it on some old pictures of mine, I'm amazed. Makes a big difference!

Posted by dnash at January 24, 2006 12:08 AM

Wow -- this is absolutely amazing! I'm not quite sure where to begin. I love the deep blue sky, the tower, the entire composition, which I think is incredibly well done with the Hall being 90 degrees from the Tower. This would make it into my favorite, top 10 DDOI shots, but there is no top 10 list, as there are too many favorites from DDOI to fit into a top 10.

Posted by Abe at January 26, 2006 02:38 AM

Thank you for the PTLens tip
