Mmmmm. Shiny fire truck.
Great shot. Really captures the speed.
Posted by Jamie at January 3, 2006 08:09 AMReally nicely accomplished! I get the feeling of real urgency in this shot. Ya ya, I know it's a FIRE truck and therefore implicit, but the image nicely addresses this. Cool shot Sam! (Happy New Year!)
Posted by Dan :: genestho.ca at January 3, 2006 10:30 AMwow. i havent been to this site in a while and this is the first thing i see- i love it. it's so bold and very strong- it really leaves an impact on you.
Posted by k c at January 3, 2006 12:23 PMNice shot.. especially the streaks ahead of the firetruck. It's good how you kept everything so straight.
Posted by Abe at January 3, 2006 12:42 PMI am an amatuer photographer and I was wondering how you get those colors in night shots?
Posted by lukebritt at January 3, 2006 12:57 PMWow, a great sense of motion and colour, this is a great shot. Was it taken from a moving car?
Posted by Jason Dale at January 3, 2006 01:07 PMVery impressive capture!
Great shot! A panning shot of a firetruck seems so appropriate, you can really feel the speed in this photo. Congratulations on a very successful 2005!
Posted by Darren at January 3, 2006 01:51 PMperfect shot. I like this shot for the cut of background from frontground.
Posted by Pooriya at January 3, 2006 02:03 PMThis is a incredibly sharp photo considering it was dark and the fire truck was moving. I am wondering if you had any warning it was approaching to prepare your camera settings, if not this is even more amazing.
Posted by Paul Woolrich at January 3, 2006 02:47 PMAh! The one kind of shot that can be out of focus and blurred for any number of reasons - and have more impact because of it.
Everone loves red, and red trucks and firetrucks have to rate the top. Gee! I gotta buy me one.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at January 3, 2006 05:12 PMI think this is my favourite out of all your panning shots. It gives a sense of panic and terror which is emphasized through the speed felt through the panning technique. also, it's not every minute you see a firetruck on the streets when you have a camera in your hands; for that reason it's quite unique.
Posted by payam at January 3, 2006 05:12 PMCanada has red firetrucks, too?
Posted by Ken at January 3, 2006 07:02 PMFantastic. This is a really dramatic image.
Posted by Milan at January 3, 2006 07:05 PMAwesome shot. The truck is so focussed, and the background moving so fast. The shot poduces a wonderful sense of urgency!
Posted by Phil at January 3, 2006 08:38 PMThat musta been some smooth shootin' to get a firetruck. One time sorta thing- and what gets me, is the shot is just a perfect pan. Nice shot.
Posted by Eric at January 3, 2006 08:55 PMNot lucky 13!? That's different. But really good.
Posted by Nate at January 3, 2006 10:00 PMI have no idea how you capture these pictures the way you do but all I can say is marvelous.

Posted by emma at January 4, 2006 05:05 PMHow did you manage to get the background blurred but not the vehicle?
Posted by Matthew at January 6, 2006 08:08 AMBig red fire truck when I grow up I what to be a firefighter and strong and help people.
