Very cool retro ... I like the rust on the antique blue. Fun shot.

Seems like it has seen a lot of adventures

Posted by Navin Harish at December 15, 2005 02:50 AM

Nice! You have to look closer to see what you're actually seeing.

Posted by Effective Pixels at December 15, 2005 04:29 AM

I like the barbed-wire; "Adventurer" no more, I'm guessing.

Posted by saul at December 15, 2005 05:38 AM

beautiful!
the colors, the composition, the DOF. It's a perfect picture. I love it.

Posted by jackie at December 15, 2005 06:25 AM

That is a wonderful picture.

This photo is great! It makes me think about my boyfriends 1994 rusty Honda Accord. I named his car Isabelle and we love her, but she is almost as rusty as the Adventurer. I love the baby blue in the photo it really pops next to the dark rust.

Posted by Lauren at December 15, 2005 07:22 AM

Love the colors! The subtle blue contrasts very nicely with the rust and the red lights, and a perfect exposure.

That car looks so sad! Great shot!

Posted by stephanie at December 15, 2005 07:35 AM

Looks like the Adventurer has had his advenures and now is experiencing the sad 'retirement' story which it could not believe before.
One of your best shots, with the usual hidden story behind it. Nice one.

Oh great photo. I love the "old worn car" type photo! Great shot. I wonder why the color "Cyan" is no longer a popular auto body color??? :-)

Posted by DeWaun at December 15, 2005 09:02 AM

Looks like the adventure is over!

perfect angle...

Posted by Pooriya at December 15, 2005 09:36 AM

Looks like another totally off road vehicle.

Bit of a switch for you subject wise.

Love the colour and sharpness.

I've been watching you! Great pictures, your style is very similar to mine. This one was such a amazing find. The Adventurer is worn and torn from his full, but he eventually rests in the cold of the winter. So much to say about this picture. I like the way you framed it too. Composition is key. This picture is one of my favorites.

wooo wonderful picture...

reminds me of the game fallout.

Posted by meta at December 15, 2005 03:11 PM

I love it. The colors and the composition are great.

Posted by Pete at December 15, 2005 03:46 PM

Great composition. Framing it to include the broken Adventurer along with the barbed-wire is what makes it. A tad bit more dof for the license plate would have been great, but it doesn't take away from the picture. Good job, as always.

Aww man ddoi is placed second currently, but I voted and so should everyone else!

IT REMINDS ME OF THIS OLD CAR AT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT THEY HAD 4 SALE.IT HAD NO WHEELS,NO WINDOWS,OR A TRUNK HOOD.OOH THAT'S RIGHT! NO ENGINE,AND A SIGN THAT SAID: RUNS GOOD. FUNNY AN'T IT?

I wonder who’s dream car this was one day! How many hours they put into paying for this car, and now it’s not wanted! Most of your photos have a hidden message to them, that's very clever about your photography. FYI, I already voted for you, excellent work.

Ok Sam, time to end the suspense -- where exactly is the "north of Toronto" you keep referring to? Woodbridge? Barrie? Iqaluit?

I endorsed your blog in the comments section of Jesus' General's web site just this morning. Hope it helped a little. Don't know how or why Zombie Time is winning, but your work makes his photos look like they were shot with a cameraphone. Keep up the good work.

I don't know how you do it. I have taken a picture of my car when it was new and it's just a photo. You take a picture of a junk car and it a piece of art. I'm jealous.

Bonjour from Paris! Great colours, texture, and the metal and snow together make me freezing cold! Excellent shot! Merci.
