That's nice, reminds me of a mall I've been in when I visited the United States two years ago ... good picture!

Posted by Tobias at December 9, 2005 03:14 AM

Beautiful.
Wish we had a shopping centre as nice and as big as that round here!

Posted by Hosko at December 9, 2005 03:41 AM

That is very pretty! You should go and take that one again with a longer exposure! I love the look of people moving around inanimate objects.

Where's the Geese, Canada that is....

Amazing shot, great scale! I love that you essentially got all the floors in one frame. Great photo. I was acutally planing on getting a similar shot of the Eaton centre here in Montreal during the holiday mad-shopping-rush...

I can almost hear the Christmas songs~

Not only is it a big tree, it is the Swarovski tree. The only tree of its kind in Canada. It is a wonderful tree, with crystal ornaments. It is difficult to capture the look of the tree, but I think you have done an excellent job.

Posted by Ryan at December 9, 2005 08:51 AM

The swaroski decorated tree is beautiful. you should really get a close up shot of that!
great shots of eaton centre as always :)

Beautiful.

I love the contrast with the previous photo. Nice shot.

Posted by Dan at December 9, 2005 11:49 AM

I love the beautiful pale apple green colour.

Hugo: I think you mean the fibreglass geese, and they are much farther back in this photo, near the Queen St. entrance.

I'm glad you took such a nice picture of the swarovski tree so that I don't have to go see it in person. It's a beautiful picture.

Absolutely beautiful, Sam! I miss being able to view your site daily, so when I get a chance to catch up, it's a real treat!

It's not really a starbucks its an 'Arbucks by the look of it. I wonder if that means that at the heart of every tree there is a pirate. ^_^

Anyways, it's not the best shot I've seen out here. But, it's still pleasant on the eyes.

That's one big space. A cathedral of consumerism.

Posted by Simon C at December 9, 2005 05:59 PM

I think that it takes someone with a special insight to take a picture like this one, Awsome job! it really made me feel the people there and it's atmesphere.

Posted by Terry Shrives at December 9, 2005 06:58 PM

i've taken pictures of this very same spot and it never turns out as nice as this. :P

i love that new tree they have there. but then again i miss santa's usual place.

Posted by vanessa at December 9, 2005 07:25 PM

Swarvoski crystal ornament tree...that's about $1,000,000 in crystal everyone is looking at. Its hard to capture its irradescence in a photo, but its clearly the brightest thing in the mall.

Posted by David at December 9, 2005 07:40 PM

This is a very nice shot. But the tree is obviously no competent to the one they had in KLCC, Petronas Twin Towers :p. I'll try to look it up and post it on my site. But the picture is not taken as nice as this tough. Merry Xmas ;)

Posted by genechin at December 9, 2005 09:18 PM

I've been following this site for a month or two now and had to go through all the archives and see all your pictures.

You make photography look so effortless. It's like you're always in the right place for a brilliant photo. The ones in the corn field were beautiful and all the Toronto clouds over the summer.

I live in New York and your photos have definately made me want to go up there next summer.

Even the most mundane everyday things, you make look special and you do such a good technical and artistic job.

I check your site every morning and I think got my Dad hooked on it.

Thanks for this great site!

Great interior shot!

Posted by AndyM at December 10, 2005 02:37 AM

Nothing is really the focus here. It's like trying to cover as many people, trees, shops, and coffee stands as possible. There are spaces near the top for me to stick my fingers in!

Posted by Boreo at December 10, 2005 10:40 AM

great picture with lot's of memories of last year visiting eaton's and toronto it's amazing
merry christmas

The Swarovski crystal tree is absolutely fantastic. I would love to visit the Eaton Centre to see the real thing.
