Comments: office desk

I love this shot, it looks very professional to me

Right when this image came up, I just got shocked for some reason. So much detail and you can almost feel what could of happened there. Where do you find places to take these pictures? Amazing but yet very real.

such devastation....

Posted by flying cow at December 5, 2005 01:11 AM

good grief! but I think the desk is still usable if cleaned? :)

The word havoc immediately comes to mind. The place is so ripped apart and crazy and lonely, all at the same time. You definitely captured that.

it looks exactly like my bedroom...

Posted by nicolas at December 5, 2005 07:41 AM

Awesome composition. Love the busy busy chaotic look in the room. You guys must have had a blast at that hospital!

Posted by Dan at December 5, 2005 08:27 AM

Awsome! Can I steal it? :D

Posted by opi at December 5, 2005 08:38 AM

Wow. This is very moving.
I'm reading it after spending some time praying and thinking about life this morning. The image is so evocative, and I think I'll spend the rest of the day finding out exactly why.

I check in every now and then. Thanks for the site.

Very nice shot. I love how it's a 13sec exposure. Not much light eh? Just wondering how you manage to get in all these abandoned factories, psych hospitals, etc.

Posted by Adam at December 5, 2005 08:49 AM

I wonder if this place will ever get restored into something else. Sure makes great photos like this though. Well, you make them great, anyway. Great photo.

Posted by Nate at December 5, 2005 09:06 AM

How many of these damn great photos do you have the archive?

Posted by Scott Murdoch at December 5, 2005 09:23 AM

Post more of these ... I love stuff like this. Great shot.

Posted by Tim at December 5, 2005 09:23 AM

Okay Sam,

I get the hint. I'll clean my room

Posted by keith at December 5, 2005 09:59 AM

Really interesting subject matter. .. once you read what it is, the picture becomes a bit creepier.

Posted by Tommy at December 5, 2005 10:04 AM

Sam, I love your photography, but I find your shots of the Whitby's abandoned psychiatric hospital disturbing. Maybe that's point? Or perhaps you just love the textures and images?

Interesting photography as always.

DEPRESSING!

You'd think crazy people had been there¿

Desk is the most together part of this.

I love the tone of the image, the texture of the wall is awesome. the only thing i dislike is the yellow metallic bag in the right low corner, I don´t think it blends well with the rest of the objects.

Posted by Paolo at December 5, 2005 11:35 AM

Sam, it's very perfect and interesting shot of the old office.

Posted by Pooriya at December 5, 2005 12:19 PM

The colour is very warm. Great use of natural light. Did you go back again, or is this from an earlier visit?

Posted by Michelle at December 5, 2005 02:27 PM

Love it! Makes me want to pick up a broom and restore just this part of the building.

Posted by marc webber at December 5, 2005 03:10 PM

Posted by diana at December 5, 2005 03:17 PM

It looks great, Sam. These pictures of Whitby's psych are very thought-provoking. Thanks for putting up an other one. Please post more.

Posted by Eral at December 5, 2005 03:32 PM

From a UE perspective this shot is fairly run of the mill.

Posted by A.R. at December 5, 2005 03:50 PM

Looks like my desk! hehe. jk... Nice shot.

Posted by Joe Lencioni at December 5, 2005 08:11 PM

this room has such great character.

it has the character traits of a psychiatric hospital. Its ripped and worn, quite a disaster, yet it holds its appeal in the color that shines through ...

Posted by stefstar at December 5, 2005 10:26 PM

Dear Sam,
Impressive as usual.
Wish you luck for 2005 Canadian Blog Award ;-)

Posted by Mamak at December 6, 2005 01:16 AM

This place really does give me the creaps. but at least there is some real sunlight coming in.

Posted by Angie Cooper at December 7, 2005 01:42 PM

this image caught my eye the second it loaded; so much detail. beautiful.

Posted by dann at December 7, 2005 02:16 PM

Cool - what a candid shot of abandonment. I dig these whitby shots you post.
