This is quite different from most other photos i've seen from you so far... I like it
Posted by payam at December 4, 2005 02:31 AMFor such a composed photo, it raises many mixed emotions.
Thanks
Posted by allan at December 4, 2005 03:04 AMWow, I just found your blog from the Fifth Annual Weblog award site. I'm glad I did.
Posted by Eric at Paris Daily Photo at December 4, 2005 03:09 AMReminds me of a scene from "The Grapes of Wrath"
When are you going to publish a book of your photography?
Posted by George Dunbar at December 4, 2005 03:11 AMCool shot. It almost looks like a person is standing next to the tree.
Posted by Ahamed at December 4, 2005 03:31 AMI quite like this one, the simplicity appeals to me.
The lines on the field are interesting too - in the distance they're sharp but closer they're motion blurred (presumably) due to being shot from a moving car?
Posted by Ed { tfk } at December 4, 2005 05:49 AMis that the tree in shawshank redemption? very peaceful photo.
Posted by eric at December 4, 2005 06:10 AMEvocative - this has a bleak monday morning feel
Posted by Andy M at December 4, 2005 06:17 AMGreat composition, light and contrasts
Posted by john at December 4, 2005 07:39 AMWoW!!!
Posted by elizabeth at December 4, 2005 08:29 AMthis is simple, the colors are subtle, nothing spectacular, but i really like it.
Posted by Jesse at December 4, 2005 08:47 AMYou must have been pretty far north of Toronto - it seems as though all the farmers in York Region have sold their land, and in place of furrows there are fire hydrants sprouting out of the earth.

I LOVE this photo. Very simple but very effective.
Posted by Chris at December 4, 2005 11:18 AMLove it, reminds me of Southern Ontario.
Posted by Candice at December 4, 2005 12:03 PMWonderful image. Great use of lines leading to the big, big sky.
Posted by Paul at December 4, 2005 12:08 PMgreat atmosphere!
Posted by Wolfgang at December 4, 2005 01:26 PMthis reminds me of a view someone would see everyday yet never appreciate
until it becomes something special to someone else, until someone else can point out and capture the specialness of it
and then it is less theirs, and they regret having not seen the specialness in it for that long, for the times when it was all theirs
so many instances of this same story in life
I love seeing the rows in the field like this when driving past. I find it very relaxing. This photo is great! :)
Posted by Natalie at December 4, 2005 02:30 PMLooks like the T.V. commercial for Six Feet Under!
You used to post the coolest and at the same time craziest photos; not a lot of those anymore, what happened?
Its just like the end of the opening credits of six feet under!! Very cool.
Posted by HIlary at December 4, 2005 03:38 PMI keep looking for Clint Eastwood in this. If this were sepia and/or a silhouette it would be Unforgiven. Odd that this is north of Toronto. Feels like it should be Saskatchewan or maybe Alberta. No, actually as I think of it, if this were Alberta there'd be a WalMart or Brick there.
Posted by Bill at December 4, 2005 04:07 PMur just fucking awesome
Posted by sara king at December 4, 2005 05:26 PM
My kind of photograph. Great subtlety, perfect balance, emotional depth. Fine work.
good shot !
Posted by a colori at December 4, 2005 07:13 PMThis is most definatly the most boring image you posted to date... someone had to say it. But that tree looks really interesting. To bad you couldn't have run through the field and got a good shot of it closer. The composition is great tho, as per usual of your shots. It's mostly the fact that the sky isn't very interesting which is completly beyond your control. Was this shot out the window of a car?
Posted by andrew at December 4, 2005 08:32 PMi really dig this photo. i agree it look sdifferent from your usual style, but it's so good anyway.
Posted by aaron at December 4, 2005 08:57 PMNice - it captures the way this time of year feels.
Posted by resolution at December 4, 2005 09:53 PMAbsolutely Beautiful!
Posted by leila at December 4, 2005 09:54 PMi like this one very much
Posted by tee at December 4, 2005 11:37 PMWhat a shot. Magnifique.
Can I place a request for larger version please.
PS. seems that there are more than one Payam in the list :^)
Like your previous shot, this is very different from your typical stuff. Yet still a good shot. I take it the sun hasnt been seen much in toronto lately?
Posted by Phil at December 5, 2005 07:20 PMoooh- i love this- great atmosphere
Posted by shaun at December 7, 2005 11:14 AMhi..i found your blog i dont from where..but it was the most catchy blog i have seen...this photo is one amazing photo..i usually surf photo.net but i find most of the photos there modified ...this is simply awesome...would want to run in this field with my arms wide open..:)....loved this..
Posted by shailly at December 8, 2005 03:30 AMI appreciate the composition here. The field is really accentuated and brought to attention by your very good use of thirds. The tree on the right adds to the shot very nicely.
Posted by Abe at December 9, 2005 04:04 PMSame Thought... "Shawshank Redemption" and the buried money & note.
I want this as my wallpaper. Please e-mail me the full sized picture. Thanks!
