Comments: more red, green and yellow

Both the textures and lines in this shot are superb, very nice composition.

I had to look at today's and yesterdays shots a few times to compare. I like what you've done here. The bricks are quite impressive.

i see the red, and the green, but wheres the yellow
unless its the concrete at the bottom, yea its probally the concrete at the bottoom
anyways i dont know, to i don't think this is one of your best pictures, seems kinda boring, its cool how it matches up perfectly with yesterdays, but other then that its kinda boring..not too much going on in it
but some of your other stuff is amazing, (i come to your site daily to see you work)

Now I get it, great Idea! So how many pictures are there in the "distillery district tall series"?

That's a lot of brick! I love it! I just wish the electrical box wasn't there.

really loved the last 2 shots sam. i've been trying to photograph downtown sd with the same respect as you do to toronto. difficult :)

I was wondering what ...how you got this picture with no warping around the edges. The info says you took it at 17mm...but there is no distortion around the edges. Is it just cropped heavily, or did you do correction in photoshop? It looks amazing...I just don't know how you pulled it off.

I think I like yesterday's image more, but you're definitely on to something with the red, green, yellow. The rusty sewer cover is indicative of how little attention is paid to the area now. And I haven't a foggy notion of what the bottle in the ad might have contained - though I suppose it's some booze drink.

All that brick foreground gives some neat illusiions as you scroll down to the perspective lines of the bricks. Good one.

eh, i don't really like it.
it's not your best.
the only thing i like is the contrast between the brick directions. i think you could of done more with this.

Pixelated world.

I think there is too much brick,
looks cool though.

I love this shot. For me, it's mostly about the brick walkway - the wear, aging, is a very beautiful thing. But, the wall is wonderful in a structured sense and may it stand for a long, long time.

Looks good.

I love the brick in this shot and the rusty manhole cover. Marvelous variety of textures. :)

so ugly!

Posted by adjam at November 30, 2005 10:22 PM

The contrast between the old, run down wiring remaining on the brick wall and the new metal conduit at the bottom of the wall is also interesting.

Bricks are hard to walk on and take too long to put together. Why not just use cement? Bring out the texture of the great cement!

the colours of orange are nice, the sewer grate and the bricks, amazing.

I think the bottle is Steam Whistle.

I don't think people appriciate the old architecture and just the look of old things much anymore. It's too bad people think that places like the Millenium Park in Chicago (although, pretty beautiful), is superior to the chateaus in Strassbourg or just any old monument.

I don't know, when I saw the comments about this picture, I felt this way.

By the way, the pic is supurb, and yesterdays too, I love the color.

No one does brick like you, Sam.
