Great intelligent shot

Composition makes it appear that it's snowing indoors... nice.

eah..black friday...

Cool shot! I like the snow on the jackets in the foreground. If I had a store with my jackets in the front while it snowed, I would probably just hand them out instead of sell them..hate cold!

The previous owners sure had a severe case of dandruff. Geez.

I love snowy days.

How funny it is to see such a comment photographically. I do recall in my 9 years in Toronto 1963 t0 1972 that I never wore overshoes or heavier winter footwear - like I needed in Ottawa or where I am now in the Killaloe hills. Actually my western style boots do all year for general use. But Torontonians react as though it were the end of the earth. Well, almost, eh?

This is an amusing way to comment on the weather though. Clever view, Sam. Headless coats talking weather.

Nice shot, feels very seasonal, not much fun being an outside trader.

A photo like this amazes me. I'm a high school student photographer, constantly looking around for photos to take for a photo blog I set up for myself.

Now usually, I would "try too hard" to look for a perfect shot, and I could very well see myself just shrugging off a scene like that of this photo. If I were, or if anyone else were to walk by a snowy coat rack, they'd just think of it as... a snowy coat rack.

But Sam, you've managed to capture this every day scene and turn it into something beautiful. I really admire your work, so thank you for bringing your daily dose of imagery into my world.

Good job, and keep up the good work.

ahh, cool capture of the snowflake moment on $19.99 fabrics.

warm well-wishes to you and yours, with the recent quake in Tehran.

looks more like a bad case of dandruff than snow but i like it all the same

Posted by keels at November 27, 2005 02:04 PM

i walked by that store right about the same time, and noticed how pretty the snow was on the jackets. neat.

Will I be the first and only person to say that this is the worst case of dandruff I've ever seen? Probably not.

The snow on the jackets is so crisp and sharp. Amazing!

You make it so hard for me to leave this city, Sam. Every day, you give me a little beautiful reason to stay, even though it has broken my heart.

ya know, i am constantly amazed by your eye for mundane things that you turn into works of art. truely. this made me smile :- )

This is one of those classic photos that'll be displayed in restaurants 50 years from now. Nice shot.

I like this a lot! I never thought of shooting the ordinary and (trying to) make it look like art until I stumbled on your site a year ago or so. No one does this quite like you do - you're the best!
