Now, that photograph makes me feel giddy. Very nice framing.
Posted by ashwin at November 18, 2005 01:25 AMVery interesting angle there. It seems to beg the question of who the viewer is even more so than what is actually going on in the picture. Nice to see a few last fall colours before we're plunged into drab winter garb.
Posted by Justus at November 18, 2005 01:33 AMwho shot the bike?
Posted by arikan at November 18, 2005 01:55 AMreally great pic: awesome shot and impressive view
Posted by Stupid at November 18, 2005 02:04 AMvery nice Mr.Javanroh. I love your shots and I like to contact whit you. How do it?
Posted by Pooriya at November 18, 2005 02:04 AMNice perspective and angle..were you up in a building or have you learn to fly with that XT of yours? ;o)
Posted by Matt at November 18, 2005 02:09 AMthere's something pleasantly destabilizing about this picture. it's great.
Posted by dmitry at November 18, 2005 02:19 AMI love the abstract nature of this photo, and the contrast between the chaos of the upturned bike and the formality of the geometric lines
Posted by Andy at November 18, 2005 03:02 AMStrange perspective there. Where exactly are you taking the picture from? Also, I've noticed that bikes are a favorite subject of yours. Probably 10 years after the fact. Those squares are sort of silly, none of them are of equal size. You crazy Canadians!
Posted by panoptican at November 18, 2005 03:09 AMI like the main curve of the composition
Posted by axier at November 18, 2005 03:12 AMInteresting angle, it looks like the bike jumped.
Posted by Ahamed at November 18, 2005 03:12 AMlooks like a chalk outline and a body/bike bag would be fitting for this shot.
Posted by rich at November 18, 2005 03:40 AMDear sam,
nothing to do with that picture in particular (altho i do like it), i just wanted to say that i've been visiting your site everyday for the last few months, and i'm a big fan.
It's great to come here get my daily shot of good photo, so thanx for your regularity and constant quality, and please don't stop, as i believe i am now addicted!!
take care,

(from paris. which is not burning, in case ur wondering :) )
Well seen! I love the composition and the band of leaves coming through the picture.
Posted by John Bloor at November 18, 2005 06:09 AMI like the composition on this one. The color is great, too! You have such a great eye for the everyday thing!
Posted by stephanie at November 18, 2005 07:22 AMVery nice abstract! Love the curve and golden leaves
Posted by Mark at November 18, 2005 07:48 AMYour photos are so amazing and wonderful. Keep a good work!
Posted by clivado at November 18, 2005 08:27 AMOne of the best compositions I’ve ever seen. Simply beautiful.
Posted by MEC at November 18, 2005 08:39 AMGood morning! One of your best recently! More emotion than pure design. Great one!
Posted by Babak at November 18, 2005 08:58 AMthis is awsome! It looks like one of those after pictures, that a forensic team would take. It looks like a man (or woman) skidded out on their bike and hit the pole and then did a face plant onto the concrete spilling blood everywhere. p.s. I like the way you photoshoped the blood and grey brain pieces out to make this a more "pc" picture. Good for you for thinking of the children!
this picture is rated G for all ages.

Posted by keith at November 18, 2005 10:14 AMLooks like you've learnt to fly.
Posted by Susie at November 18, 2005 10:17 AMHaving been a bike rider in Ottawa for 17 years before leaving the city to escape noise and all the indifference to that, what this image does is make me angry. The bike was likely kicked over by the typical modern day idiot that is the common factor on our streets now. NO RESPECT - ONLY JEALOUSY AND PUT DOWN - DISSIN EVERYONE. JERKS! May they burn in hell.
Graphically the form has some interest, but mostly it's the record of the disgusting reality.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at November 18, 2005 10:18 AMwow! nice unique viewpoint!
Posted by neowenyang at November 18, 2005 10:20 AMrock on sam, love the angle

How dare you insult us!! I have no idea what you're talking aboot! All we try to do is drink a little beer inside our igloo, and go about our daily business of getting liquered up and watching a bit of hockey. I myself am a mere beaver pelt salesman, and I for one am offended by your crazy stereotypical comments! I demand that they be taken back or I will be forced to get the army to go to P.E.I and get our gun, and then have the good folks from Vancouver bring over our bullet!
Trust me you do not want to awaken the sleeping midget!!
Coop, eh.
Posted by keith at November 18, 2005 10:26 AMyour composition makes my heart stop.
Posted by Kel at November 18, 2005 01:06 PMGreat shot Sam,
You always proved you are the best. I can not imagine where you could get this shot from though. Another sign of your brain work.
Well done mate.
P.S.This Keith guy doesn't know Brits I think ;)
Great perspective and colors!
Posted by Abe at November 18, 2005 09:21 PMA very unnatural perspective, I think. Makes me think you've taken up hang-gliding in downtown Toronto. Unique subject... unique perspective... nice capture... a signature DDOI shot indeed. Well done.

Posted by tee at November 18, 2005 11:30 PMThe picture looks flat, even though it has some depth (the sidewalk). Nice pic
Posted by Rosh at November 19, 2005 03:09 PMit's not as spectacular as other pictures you've taken, but it has a slash-through-your-heart quality. not so much the bike has impressed me, but the arc smudged with wet leaves that has some kind of magic...
