i live about an hour west of south hampton. i'm so lucky to have these type of sunrises/sunsets every day.
autumn and especially november are great for sunsets!
hope you enjoy your stay on long island!
Posted by kate at October 23, 2005 04:09 AMif this is cliché.. then please, more cliché photos!
Posted by kontemporary at October 23, 2005 04:28 AMEven if its a very common object it is very beautiful. Like the contrasting darkblue with the deep orange colours. Personally I love to see both beautiful sunrise and sunset, the trick with taking photos of them is to find the peculiar ones. I think you did a great job here.
Posted by Karl-Petter at October 23, 2005 05:23 AMoh my god this is so beautiful! my breath is taken away.
Posted by neowenyang at October 23, 2005 05:29 AMI am from Germany and i am at your site about every day to watch those nice pictures.
This pictures is one of the best i think.
The colors of the sunrise are damn hot, the clounds in white and black, too.
I really like this picture. Is it possible to get this picture in better quality to set it as a wallpaper? That would be really nice.
Posted by Andy2k5 at October 23, 2005 05:42 AMSam,
be sure that none of your pictures look like a cliché.
I like that kind of view ;)
Posted by ps at October 23, 2005 07:02 AMOh, this is lovely, hon. It's not about being cliched, it's about sharing your experiences. At the risk of sounded cliched. :P
Posted by Kel at October 23, 2005 07:18 AMwhat a peaceful atmosphere, the sunrise and the birds and nothing else.

Posted by NagChampa at October 23, 2005 09:25 AMI don't think this is a cliche photo. This one has movement, the colors are well saturated and the composition is fantastic. I live near the Atlantic Ocean. I would feal the same if I visited for the first time the Pacific Ocean. :-)
Posted by nuno f at October 23, 2005 09:31 AMBeautiful sunrise. The seagulls add to it as well.
Posted by Raffi at October 23, 2005 10:31 AMIts so good to see the site back up! I had also sworn the site was hacked because it linked to some different site and the mainpage kept refreshing. The picture looks very very nice!

Posted by Hugh Petrie at October 23, 2005 12:56 PMThe birds add depth, or otherwise, the picture might appear flat. Excellent.

Posted by Rob at October 24, 2005 04:45 AMWell done again Sam,
Not a cliche though. There are different elements that makes your picture unique. First of all your reasons which tell the story about picture. Secondly your view from the sea shore is giving movement to the picture and the colours are magnificently brilliant.
Can I add another request for WP?
well, i think it's absolutely beautiful nonetheless. you've captured the sunrise well. i'm never up early to grab these either :-)
Posted by Molly at October 24, 2005 11:42 AMMagnificent! I love it!
Seeing that you get so many requests for wallpaper, you should consider creating a page on the site displaying thumbnails of your images available in wallpaper size. An icon can appear next to your own comments below the images and can link to the “wallpaper collection” page. Just a suggestion.
Posted by Peter at October 24, 2005 02:51 PMWHOA on the saturation! It's most definitely been cranked up here...
I like your work, but please, take it easy on the saturation
so thats what the sunrise looks like! :D hehe awesome photo

Posted by Abe at October 27, 2005 03:09 AMHello Sam,
I'm very pleased each time I browse your site, I discovered it about 4 month ago and have been "advertising" it to some friends since then.
I wanted to congratulate you but i've never taken time to do so until today, so here it is. :)
By the way about that specific photo would it be possible to get a wallpaper sized one ?
Gigs.
Posted by Gigs at October 27, 2005 03:36 AMSorry I'm late commenting on this one. I've really missed your photos, have been quite busy, so I'm catching up.
This is another shot that should be a desktop background. I'm sure many would appreciate a separate link on your site to point to all your shots that you've made available as desktop backgrounds.
Thanks.
Posted by Carl B. Constantine at February 13, 2006 02:18 AMSunsets are common but your treatment is what makes this a very good photo. Including the birds was a great idea. Excellent image.
