Awesome shot and great timing, it's as if the plane trail is the reflection of the large place.. or something.

Nice shot! What happened when the mini-plane caught up to the big one?

Posted by Aaron Schmidt at October 19, 2005 02:09 AM

wow, thats different...I like it!

Nice shot. Great timing .

Well how do u manage to get such long shot. i amazed at the length of the shot in comparison to its width. it doesnt seems to be streached.

I've always admired your photography ever since I stumbled across your photoblog journal... your photography never ceases to amaze and awe me.

Wow what a shot to be taken from a moving car it's inspirational.

I've been away for a week so being able to look at a weeks worth of archive, truly stunning, doubles the pleasure.

Very original. Moments like this are always fantastic.
Will the plain from behind catch the front plane? What will happen when the chase is over? Will justice be done? Dn't loose the next chapter of "The Pursuit". : )

good moment, good shot, good taken and "jolie prise"
bonne continuation

Now this is the shot of shots. Try duplicating this one!! Wow.

Posted by ROB at October 19, 2005 06:04 AM

Wow, brilliant.

Posted by moostive at October 19, 2005 06:25 AM

Amazing!

Posted by Susie at October 19, 2005 06:29 AM

Extremely sharp picture and the car's windscreen must be really clean!

Amazing how you can take shots that are so candid and yet perfect.

Posted by james at October 19, 2005 07:18 AM

Wow. Cool. I've tried to get a similiar shot a couple of times but haven't quite got it.

Posted by jasonspix at October 19, 2005 09:09 AM

I suppose that this photo was originally horizontal ? or not ...

Posted by Enric at October 19, 2005 09:31 AM

WOW! Superb shot! You are so lucky to get the two inline. And amazingly, this was shot from a moving car! Cool!

Posted by yungyaw at October 19, 2005 09:31 AM

Hope you weren't driving! :)

Posted by andrew at October 19, 2005 09:42 AM

I'm just glad that Sam wasn't INSIDE the airplane, if you know what I mean! Oh look at the time, it's 9:11 p.m.

Among my favourites are these large size images that tell a story as you scroll down, revelaing something unexpected. You have quite a few them now. And it a great example of the rare cases when a screen that is "too small" enhances the experience of looking at a photograph. Great use of the medium.

i have the feeling of vertigo. i guess i'm not used to planes facing downward like that.

Posted by aaron the bold at October 19, 2005 10:14 AM

Wonderful! Vertigo :)

Posted by markmark at October 19, 2005 10:17 AM

isn't that something! Great timing, and perfect. How you did it from a moving car is beyond me? Well done!

Posted by JasOn at October 19, 2005 10:24 AM

Pointed the wrong way?

Just kidding. It reminds me of something shot in the '70s--color not quite the full spectrum, and a little blurry. Not to say that I don't like it, just that it has some of those qualities.

How's New York?

Posted by Eliot at October 19, 2005 10:37 AM

It's hard to believe how spontaneous your shots can be, this is perfect.

Posted by Krista at October 19, 2005 11:46 AM

I love it! That's a great name for the photo, too.

Posted by H Bourne at October 19, 2005 12:41 PM

Holy heavens - that's super striking.

Another moment of great luck and a quick draw.

You ever shoot a gun? Seems sort of the same quick sense of response. Way nicer!

Posted by Hugh Petrie at October 19, 2005 01:08 PM

wow! reallly cool. it's like tilting your head back and seeing this scene unfold above.

Posted by dmitry at October 19, 2005 02:15 PM

I find images of planes shot from underneath to be erotic. Is that abnormal?

Posted by Todd Vodka at October 19, 2005 02:55 PM

Incredible Shot.

Posted by Arabica at October 19, 2005 04:46 PM

I love, again, how you get so much in the picture. This was really well spotted.

Its so far away. Its making me want to be as far off the ground too...

Posted by Phil at October 19, 2005 06:11 PM

Impeccable!

What an amazing sky shot!

Posted by Mayur at October 19, 2005 06:35 PM

is that plane actually falling? crazy stuff

Posted by Hugh at October 19, 2005 07:41 PM

omg what a great shot!!! colors and composition are so amazing

Posted by mariel at October 19, 2005 09:23 PM

WOWWWWWW.. simply breathtaking.. good effect you've got by tilting the image!!

Posted by Rahul at October 19, 2005 11:19 PM

What a bizzare picture. What are the odds of finding two planes at totally different altitudes "lined up" like this? Better than I would have thought, I guess. You have quite a knack for photographing skies and clouds, Sam.

Posted by Rob at October 19, 2005 11:45 PM

Once again, you've taken a completely mundane, everyday scene and made it interesting to look at. As a result of your blog, I find myself looking at everything around me a bit more closely.

Posted by Dan at October 19, 2005 11:46 PM

I love the title for this one. Good thinking!

Posted by Nate at October 20, 2005 01:12 AM

This photo is 1337, literally. Nice work getting that many up!

Posted by Andrew Spearin at October 20, 2005 01:36 AM

...Amazing!

Posted by Denis at October 20, 2005 01:42 AM

Nice!

Posted by Tara H. at October 20, 2005 01:58 AM

Good thing you were in a moving car - you probably would have been arrested otherwise (*sigh*).

Posted by Chris at October 20, 2005 05:55 AM

I think this picture is very reflective of Our culture! Look at the way the mother plane is WAY ahead of the baby plane! The mother plane is ONLY concerned about her own interests, instead of doing her job and taking care of her little baby plane. F@(k you Big plane! Why'd you even have a baby! Jesus, is crying!!

Posted by keith at October 20, 2005 03:49 PM

woooo- dayum gina!!

Posted by shaun at October 25, 2005 04:52 PM

I like this picture cuz it gives me slight vertigo, most pictures don't.
