Your photography is always consistent. I love your pictures =)

It looks like fire; I love the light reflection on clouds even more than on lake

Posted by Reza at August 18, 2005 04:01 AM

wow. absolutely beautiful. one of the most breathtaking shots!

Posted by La at August 18, 2005 04:41 AM

WOW, freakin awesome....

Posted by Matt at August 18, 2005 06:04 AM

Sunsets are never exciting, unless you are there... At least, that is what I thought before I saw this image...

Your pictures make me want to move to Canada...or at least go for a visit. I adore your site, and just wanted to take a moment to thank you for updating every day...it gives me something to look forward to :)

This photo is making me want to be there!
Can I go too?

Posted by Barb at August 18, 2005 07:40 AM

Very romantic picture!
BRAVO! :D

Posted by Thibo at August 18, 2005 08:17 AM

Well this is much more intiguing than most sunsets I have seen out there. I like the framing too. Sam, I noticed you take most of your shots vertically, and 90% of my shots are vertical as well. Must be a common trait.

I love the name of this pic is almost looks like there has been a murder on the lake and the water is blood it would make a good film poster for a thriller of some kind. Very ominous!

Posted by keels at August 18, 2005 09:02 AM

scrolling down from all that gray, the red really hits you, doesnt it? another great landscape :)

Posted by jayjay at August 18, 2005 09:05 AM

Wow what a great pic.
Look like everything is burning lol
Where is this place in quebec???

Posted by Jimmy at August 18, 2005 09:17 AM

WOW!!! Very dramatic sky and I love the reflection on the water. And the texture of the water surface is so great. Nice work.

Wow... looks like a great big table lamp against the dark skies :-)

Posted by dp at August 18, 2005 10:38 AM

Oh my! Spectacular colors. Very surreal.

Posted by Teja at August 18, 2005 10:45 AM

Mesmerizing landscape.........YOU ARE A MASTER!!!!

Posted by DavidFF at August 18, 2005 11:35 AM

That has got to be the second most beautiful thing I've seen all month (second only to my beautiful fiancee).

Great job!

Posted by JJ at August 18, 2005 11:56 AM

Another great shot, you seemed to be at the right spot at the right time.

THIS is stunning!

Posted by Dawn at August 18, 2005 01:00 PM

This is a very interesting image. It is very calm and then you see the color. It almost looks like Hell is on the other side of that far mountain. Very cool!!

Posted by Erik at August 18, 2005 01:14 PM

You have a spectacular eye. I am loving this. So, tranquil.

Posted by princessdominique at August 18, 2005 02:28 PM

I love this

Posted by ecila at August 18, 2005 03:09 PM

Gorgeous. I like the fact that the color is confined to a small area.

Posted by jesse at August 18, 2005 04:35 PM

Oooooooh, I can just imagine sitting at the end of the dock, dangling my feet in that lake, revelling in the sunset......

God is a fabulous painter, and Sam a fabulous photographer!
Thanks for sharing!!!

AS ALWAYS: THIS PICURE LEFT ME MORE AWE-STRUCK THAN THEN LAST.

ROCK ON AND THANKS ALOT FOR THE ADVICE :)C

Posted by Ali at August 18, 2005 06:19 PM

Great shot, I agree with the remark about it making a good film poster, very dramatic and brooding.

Posted by Paul hullock at August 18, 2005 07:05 PM

Such a wonderful picture! Maybe it can be made into a wallpaper.

Posted by Ayan at August 18, 2005 07:18 PM

You're phenomenal. I adore these lake shots. They bring back summer camp memories.

Posted by jackie at August 18, 2005 07:19 PM

The title suits the photo well. The top of the photo is a little too grey but I guess thats what happens when the sunset is "trapped". ;) Beautiful capture, nonetheless.

Posted by Raffi at August 18, 2005 11:22 PM

My friend John recommended your pictures. How unusual to see a truly "trapped" sunset. Proves that our sunsets in Arizona can have some real competition!!

Posted by trudy at August 19, 2005 01:43 AM

sad and lovely sunset!
it reminds me the Stendhal title book "le rouge et le noir" and the beautifull french song "ne me quitte pas" from Jacques Brel:

"et qu'en viens le soir pour qu'un ciel flamboie, le rouge et le noir ne s'épousent-ils pas..."
(when night is coming, to blaze the sky, does not the red and black meet each other..)

sorry for my bad english translation...
a french visitor.
