Comments: old reflected on new

This is definitely the opposite direction to the usual tourist shots. Looks good.

I love this shot! Just the silver metallic of the new compared to the green and brown earthy tones of the old. Well done.

Posted by Ed at August 4, 2005 02:22 AM

wow. i havent commented on your work in a while. i like this one because of all the silver in it and it goes great with the green oxodized copper (roofs? rooves?) and the brick?... well the colors of the parliament buildings and tone of them really go good together with the silver. the reflection is also impressivly clear. props to you!

Superb shot

Canada's past reflected in the present,
stitched into the fabric of our future...
imposing, inflexible & outdated

democracy might just [justly] reside in the lens, and in artists around our world.
A photo's freedom to speak it's thousand words without uttering a single incriminating sound, is one remaining true & powerful expression.

A free and empowered artist, photographer & individual frees and empowers everyone. non?

Nice shot. Great reflection, and a nice trick at the left of the shot; you caught the edge of the mirrors, and a good DoF gave the background building some sense of depth. That also tells the eye that the crisp reflection is closer than the background. Cool. Good eye, man . . .

I live in the capital and find lots to catch the eye. I took a shot from the locks of the Rideau canal behind the parliament buildings, and included the link. The reflection caught my eye. And another at Grand Teton.

I like this distortion of images you achieve by shooting objects reflected on glass-panelled surfaces. It makes the photograph look so much like an impressionist painting, very pleasing to the eye; and it also serves to remind me that different people looking at the same object don't necessarily see exactly the same thing.

I’m bewildered at your ability to show a new perspective to places I’ve seen a thousand times before. Great creative photo.

Hey, it is not "daily dose of imagery"; it's "daily dose of WOW"!
Nice job Sam :)

Great reflection picture. It is funny to see Ottawa on your blog, I was just there this past weekend, and my shot today is just east of where this shot was taken (here http://www.seemsartless.com/map/map-ott.php?pic=399 ) I'll be curious to see if you have more Ottawa pictures in the next few days.

Hello,

I just wanted to tell you I downloaded the Daily Dose of Imagery Widget and have found your images intriguing, and inspiring.

I haven't posted in a while, but I am always watching. I love this shot, Sam!

You seem to have a great interest in watching reflections. I like the way you take these shots just from the right location.
Are you standing on the ground or in the other building?
It seems there are just too many glass exteriors in Canada!

a cliché, but a well done one

I've never left a comment before, but I check this page almost every day, and I am never disappointed. You continually amaze me with the way that you capture the pulse of whatever building or road or sky that you photograph. Todays's picture was particularly riveting. Thank you...

Really nice shot - beautiful reflection and a clean, crisp feel.

Posted by Abe at August 5, 2005 03:15 AM

Very nice contrast between the two buildings. I love the texture of the glassy new building and the colors of the traditional manor type building.
