You do seem to have a lot of colours in the streets of Toronto to brighten up your days. BTW, there is someone trying to hide behind the tree (without much success :)

Hey Sam,

Am reading some people saying that these L series lenses cause an "L-sickness" where you start to throw out your old non-L glass in the same focal length because it all starts looking sub-par by comparison.

How much have you used this L lense and what would you say about that? Really worth the money? A Canon L series is about 5x the cost of a non-L in the same focal length.

The red color in the background is very nice.

i like the composition. but it seems to me that the colors are a bit duller than they usually are.

sunrise sunday morning:bright sun's rays transforms the dark blood red wall into brilliant yellow-orange glare... against this colourful background the foreground subjects are slightly tilted: the lamppost and the dude tilted to the right ,the tree and it's headless guest tilted to the left...and still in the shade.. probably hung over. reminds me of kris kristofferson's classic song:"sunday morning coming down" great piece of work, sam

Very nice colours. It bothers me a little that the lamp post is leaning a little the opposite way that the tree is leaning; a little left heavy. But still enjoyable :)

haha
the man, the tall lamp, and the taller tree.

While other cities in the world are challenging theirselves to have the tallest building or the biggest stadium, this city of yours has the biggest bookstore; hum, it speaks very well of you people living in Toronto. Otherwise I love this kind of shots, the colors brought up by the ¿morning/afternoon? light. Nice.

You were at the world's biggest bookstore and you took a picture of the OUTSIDE??? Please, for the love of Rosie, show us what it looks like on the INSIDE!!!

Hey Marcelo, just to let you know, Toronto enjoys that kind of competition as well....we have the tallest structure in the world here.

And I'm also pretty sure that the World's Biggest Bookstore is just a name...it's really not that big inside.

Oh, and great shot Sam :)

World's Biggest Bookstore is owned by Chapters...indeed when built it was the largest in the world. It might still be, I'm not sure. Remember there are multiple floors there.

Also, that begger lady behind the tree scares me... she used to be nice, I'd talk to her on my lunch breaks when going for my walk... then she became extremely aggressive and has a lot of conversations with herself now, sometimes breaking out into a hysterical laugh.

My first impression of this foto was "wow." Not very technical, I know, but I really like it. Great capture with the dramatic red building and the man in the center-left. Great lighting -- a very warm foto. Great job, Sam!

FYI:
The World's Biggest Bookstore was not built as a bookstore; it was originally a two floor bowling alley, called the "Olympic".
That was back when there were pin boys who reset your pins for you.
There were ten pin lanes and a snack bar on the main floor, with five pin lanes and lockers on the second floor.I remember bowling there after work on Fridays with a league from The Robert Simpson Company.
But, that was back in the dark ages.
