Have you ever been approached (or thought of approaching) the Toronto Board of Tourisim or Visitors Bureau or whatever it is?

Posted by rich at June 16, 2005 04:28 AMHmm ... cool to have to railway system going right between trees!

Posted by sarpi at June 16, 2005 06:54 AMIn Mother Russia, you don't ride sub-vay, sub-vay rides YOU.
/got...
Posted by qoJ at June 16, 2005 07:57 AMI really like the contrast between the landscape, and then the city and subway. It's a really nice effect.
Posted by Eric at June 16, 2005 09:24 AMWonderful blur - just enough to render the feeling of movement!
Posted by Dmytro at June 16, 2005 09:47 AMnice one !
looks just like in a movie.
I've always had trouble with my portrait composition; I could learn a few things from you. Stellar work as always.
Posted by James at June 16, 2005 10:42 AMSam!! This is fabulous! Absolutely fabulous. I'm not sure why exactly, but to me this looks like a scene straight out of Spielberg movie. :-)
Posted by myla at June 16, 2005 10:57 AMOne of the secret pleasures of the Toronto subway system. North on the Bloor line, from Bloor Station to Eglinton, most of the route is above ground running through some very nice neighbourhoods -- Rosedale, Summerhill, Davisville. Great pic.
Posted by David at June 16, 2005 11:01 AMEach part of Toronto seems so different...
Cool pix :)
Bah Bah...
Posted by alireza at June 16, 2005 11:47 AMsam could you tell me how you got that blur/still effect? sorry im not very technically inclined when it comes to shooting.
by the way, i love this shot. the green made me say "mmmmmm"
this is a good shot. i like the movement and the sharpness of the colours!
Posted by kim at June 16, 2005 01:09 PMTerrific photo, Sam!
My favourite part of the Toronto subway is that Yonge line section between Yonge and Bloor and Eglinton stations - especially the part where you can see Mount Pleasant cemetary.
Sam, when you get the chance, could you perchance take a photo of the area around Mount Pleasant cemetary? It is so beautiful there, both in the winter and in the summer.
Posted by Ilil at June 16, 2005 01:22 PMhi
I like this photo, like most images on your site.
but I think the size of this phto is little to big.
I work on 1024x768 so maybe it's just me?
I thought Brooklyn. Prospect Park S line??
Cool, Mooving,smart,sexy in my look!
Posted by maryam at June 16, 2005 03:51 PMwow, such lovely colours...
its as if you captured movement and froze time.
and i think its so true what you said in the star, that toronto is nothing compared to nyc but together the photobloggers are bringing to focus all of its beautiful redeeming qualities.
awesome pic...what kinda camera to get the size? or is it a manip'd pano?
Posted by TM at June 16, 2005 05:54 PMIlil remarks on the Mount Pleasant Cemetary and that is exactly what this reminded me of - and I've not been in Toronto since 1985 and then only 9 days while looking for possible digs. I was there 9 years from 1963 to 1972 and the green bye the subway at the cemetary was always refreshing to pass.
Thanks for the memory.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at June 16, 2005 09:27 PMHi Sam, I know it's late in the day, but I just got home. This shot is the essence of T.O. - green and speed. I absolutely love the sun spots on the tracks (both sides).
And just a reminder, when are you going to shoot Gilda's door and the detail at the King Eddie? Cheers,
Posted by linda at June 16, 2005 09:43 PMI know I'll be seing this photoshoped on Fark soon. Keep them coming, I look forward to my daily dose. thanks.
Posted by lynne Scott at June 16, 2005 11:22 PMSam love this picture baby :D! Just one question: did you have to stand there a long time to get the picture, for the sub-way to come by?
Posted by Gordon Olmstead at June 17, 2005 01:27 AMStunning. Its as if the train was added afterwards to a very scerene environment.
Posted by Raffi at June 17, 2005 08:24 PMWonderful! I really enjoy this. I have been shooting lots of train pics lately and what you've captured here is great. Great leading lines, motion, lighting, and colors. Nice!
Posted by Abe at June 21, 2005 12:27 PMThis is one of my favorite "subway" rides. It used to take me to my Mom's apartment at Yonge & St. Clair before I used to drive everywhere. I miss living downtown.
Posted by Natasha at June 22, 2005 09:16 PMMy Favourite view of the city! It's actually at Yonge and Rowanwood, south of the Summerhill LCBO. I see this view every day, and it's fabulous the way youve captured it
