I love this!
I immediately thought of this poem:
The Red Wheelbarrow
William Carlos Williams
-------------------------------------------------
so much depends
upon
a red wheel
barrow
glazed with rain
water
beside the white
chickens.
Wish the pic was a bit shited to the right. Love how the lines create an illusion.
Posted by Harpreet at June 7, 2005 05:31 AMCool. I think that's the first time i've ever seen a yard on top of a building. I hope they don't put a trampoline too close to the edge.
Posted by Nate at June 7, 2005 06:54 AMThat is a fantastic photo. I don't know why but it makes me want to live there.
Posted by Clyde at June 7, 2005 07:03 AMwow, very simple, but very beautiful
the red stands out like no other
Wow Sam. This is great: multiple levels, the colors are great, and on my puny screen anyway I have to scroll to see the wagon which is kinda nice, a surprise.
Posted by Richard at June 7, 2005 07:13 AMReally like these photos that divide and intersect. Makes the ordinary much more interesting.
Posted by Scott at June 7, 2005 09:05 AMReminds me of Rear Window.
Posted by Kevin at June 7, 2005 09:42 AMgreen rooftops simply make sense. seems natural, as if the building rose straight up from the ground. ford has the largest green roof in the world.
Posted by jessewarren at June 7, 2005 10:29 AMThe comments above captured my feeling about this photo so I'll just say "damn well done". Now I want to find this rooftop oasis :-)
Posted by Sean Galbraith at June 7, 2005 11:05 AMI didn't think about the grass until I read the comments. I like the saturation and the lines. Your lines aree always so straight. I am curious why you used f4.
Posted by abe at June 7, 2005 01:57 PMOnce again--a great picture. Hope the picnic table will be moved away from the wall if a child plays with the wagon there.
Posted by Jae at June 7, 2005 02:09 PMHey Sam did you know CityTV is having some contest for pictures. You're doing a great job and I'll know you could win.
Posted by Ayan at June 7, 2005 06:41 PMmmmm....a flavor of luscious rural amongst the concrete urban noise. can you just imagine a lawnmower on that roof?!?! and that wheelbarrow...perfect capture of mindfulness, indeed.
Posted by dogstone at June 8, 2005 12:20 AMNice photo. I'm curious....is that a bathtub in the window to the left? too bad, or good-however you want to look at it, there isn't someone in need of a cleansing!
