Comments: three people, four birds

nice offset subject! and the 4 birds surely fill the right of the image!

Another great photo! I love the colours. I looked at this and thought "is this in California?". Just goes to show how recently I've been to Centre Island!

The widget is an excellent idea, but on my box, at least, it has created a strange white bar that floats a couple of centimeters below the photo's display. I can't get to Alexandre's page, so I thought I might let you know here.

This, by the way, is a very powerful photo of the sort that I think I've only seen in your work.

Great image - love the composition, the slight vignetting, and that iso 100 smoothness.

This shot is symmetrical in many ways. It feels really clean and the timing couldn't be better. Very nice, Sam!

How much is admission (is that even the right word??) to the exhibit?

Posted by Will at May 31, 2005 04:34 AM

I saw and felt "clean"...:)

This is great, I love the composition and the colours.

I love shots like this as they remind me of the photographs of Elliott Erwitt. My eye is continually drawn to the birds then back to the yellow/orange colour of the person's jacket.

what can i say? the composition is great, the lighting is good and the shot itself is just plain funny!

great shot Sam --nice balance- 4 harmonious and free birds versus a squared off permanent concrete bridge. Did you need to wait for the birds to arrive?

Sweet widget Sam! It's great. I don't even have to have Safari open to get your newest image. Loads pretty quick, too. Thanks.

OMG! *Love* the Widget!! Thank you so much! Not to mention, thanks for all the great images. You have incredible talent, and amazing skill. Good Luck in all your future endeavors.

It's awesome how that person just happens to wear a yellow/orange coat. Compliments on the complement!

p.s.: I love your photoblog. I've been following it for a while now and it just keeps getting better.

Hello!

I really appreciate the gentle, yet crisp differences in the blue of the sky versus the blue of the water.

Hey, any chances of having a widget made for Windows users on Konfabulator?

Posted by Raffi at May 31, 2005 05:01 PM

Very cool, it has a very airy, clear quality about it.

The Widget works great. A feature request would be to click to enlarge, shrink (a la weather widget) the image.

The CBC piece was interesting... got me here :)

Posted by mhp at May 31, 2005 07:40 PM

Is there anyway that the Widget source can be open source? I would love to have this feature on my sites.

Posted by Justin at May 31, 2005 10:05 PM

Love the site (been coming here for over a year) and love the widget.

Would request that clicking on the image in the widget takes you to the image page on the website. Might be cool to have day before and after buttons on there too.

Keep up the great work!

Just want to say, love the widget. Makes visiting the site everyday just a little bit easier. Great job by the way. You have inspired me to start taking more photos and buy a new camera.

Beautiful picture Sam. Really love the bird formation. Their wings seem to form a cycle ... down, flap, up, down.

Posted by Zishaan at June 1, 2005 12:25 PM

I really like the way you've captured both subjects in this photo. The blue background just compliments it too!

Exactly the right composition and the good light !

hi its nice to see YOU see with the lense as some see with there eyes

Posted by Your-MUM at June 16, 2005 05:54 PM

Screw the specs; I'm not bothered about what you tweaked with to get your image to zing - this is an exceptionally beautiful picture that has more to do with your eye than your software. I LOVE IT!
