If that doesn't make you think doomsday is a'comin', nuthin' will.
vahm anciz va tarsnakkkkkk......
Posted by sanaz at May 24, 2005 05:40 AMGood tone and contrast. The trees on the left help to give some foreground and contrast with the sky.
Posted by David H-W at May 24, 2005 06:31 AMAmazing!
Posted by ula at May 24, 2005 07:31 AMhi! that's a great capture! visit mine here !I'll be appreciated if you tell me your opinion!
thanx!
quite stunning...it looks as if the dark rimmed circle in the clouds (just upper right of centre) is opening up so that the heavens (or whatever is up there) shall smite the earth...
we had no smiting in ottawa, but the weather was pretty dreary the entire weekend
Posted by daisy at May 24, 2005 08:28 AMI know! I was looking at the clouds all weekend - they were wack!
Posted by Scott at May 24, 2005 09:13 AMVery dark, very ominous. An excellent shot all around.
Posted by MiguelSanchez at May 24, 2005 09:25 AMWow. This is so intense, and the b & w adds to it a huge sence of mistery
This is a powerful image...It reminds me of Steiglitz's cloud studies.

Posted by digital di at May 24, 2005 12:18 PMI would like to know if you played around with brightness and sharpness later, and also whether the black-and-white was done in the camera or with an image editing software.
Posted by Hemanth P at May 24, 2005 01:33 PMthats one evil looking sky, well captured with the twigs. reminds me of the sky from the movie the matrix.
Posted by mikey at May 24, 2005 01:47 PMI like this... great clouds, and I like the tree encroaching the frame.
Posted by Abe at May 24, 2005 01:48 PMDefinitely looks like something's brewing.
Posted by nogger at May 24, 2005 02:04 PMreminds me of ghostbusters. thats a good thing by the way.

Freaky. The clouds move! At least when I look at it...anyone else??

Posted by Mike at May 24, 2005 07:16 PMwow man! uve dont it again! amazingly, the clouds where the same around here in montreal...right after i saw the day after tomorow...wow i was freaked out:P..well anyway sweet shot sam!
Posted by Andrei at May 24, 2005 07:36 PMAmazing clouds. Looks like a nasty storm is a' brewin'.
Posted by Matt at May 24, 2005 08:20 PMIt's a pity that I'm away and can't see your stuff in the gallery and if I add that to "not coming to publicity", I think I should just support you with comments.
This is about the best cloud picture I've seen online. The liquid like texture of the clouds and their wavelike pattern is just a visual feast and the tree adds an extra "thought layer" to the frame.
I wonder how this would look like if you had toned it with some colour.
Posted by Kaveh at May 24, 2005 09:41 PMnice
Posted by Ayan at May 24, 2005 10:36 PMThe noise is bothering me. Is it a result of photoshopping?
Posted by Boreo at May 24, 2005 10:37 PMHmm.... some clouds....I think you could post any old crap and people would start gushing about it :)

Posted by SteveO at May 25, 2005 05:22 AMOMG!!!!!! I see the Virgin Mary weeping. It's a miracle. My daughter sees an elephant. Compelling
shot, I like clouds too. Nick, you're a true art critic, too bad you couldn't be an artist instead huh?
that's some great drama in the sky, and the branches give just enough interest and orientation to the shot. I'd love to know what post-processing you used, if any.
