Comments: yellow biker

Wow, it looks like the whole field is on fire. The person on the bike in the background saves the shot from being dull. Nice job.

A lovely picture, a nice change from the Urban settings of the previous few.
A lovely thing to wake up to today, thank you

I like how you got the bicycle rider in the background. Nice job.

nice shot sam, i've been coming here since march and i'd have to say this is one of the first compositions i've seen you do on this type of setting, but regardless you cease to impress me :)

Is that field close to the city lights? If not, it would be a great place to try astrophotography. When you going to try that? Excellent photo Sam. Keep it up!!

AWESOME! I'd love to be that bike rider right now...

Nice shot. I like the colours in the grass. I also like how the cyclist adds to the photo.

~the level of contrast in your shots is something I/eye take notice of each time I visit, personally I tend to stray towards images with more tha their fair share of contrast...here the somewhat tall vertical provides a bit more space than probably necessary to isolate the sole subject in the frame, the rust colored stalks of weeds and such are a fine detail...what I find pleasing compositionally is how you break the frame up into (top to bottom) shark grey sky, then a layer of natural color, then the darker hue of blue in the water, then back to the rust colored weeds...it's rewarding when somethings just happen right when you snap the shot and if you planned that sequence I praise you even more~

Great shot. Very nice colors. I'm also a big fan of biking and how captured the element of adventure and solace in the outdoors.

Excellent contrast. Good sense of space.

I must say that this is one of your best pictures. I personally liked it because its much different than any of your other works. I like the blue color of the water against the yellow of the field. Your other pictures are mostly about city, city life, buildings or ice but this is like very diverse and nice.

Grand image. I find myself investing time in segments of this photo. Caught up in the foreground at the moment. It's captivating. Do you use Photoshop or another program to enhance? The balance and composition are so natural yet it's plain to see you are an expert.

when i saw the pic, i thought, now, where's the biker? with so much yellow, i had to look really hard.
and then, as soon i saw the biker, the image changed from a dull, field on 'fire' to a really impressive one!!!

Posted by aashish at May 23, 2005 07:54 PM

wow, i love the tiny little biker in the background... great timing

Beautiful. Looks like a great spot.

' "A yellow biker" ? Where is the biker? '

This was the first thing I had in mind when I saw this picture.

Then I noticed the guy in yellow on a bike. Haha, you always name the picture after the smallest element in photos. (Like http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/archives/photos_snapshots/050122_1000.shtml)

Great job, Sam, on both the photo itself and the naming. ;-)

I like the amber hues and, of course, the bike!
