This is so great the first part looks like a beautiful panting and then the building underneath just brings us back to reality.

I must say I love this. The play and trickery of scale are fantastic, aswell as the flawless reflections, if I can say such a thing. The tiles of reflection are perfect. Very nice capture.

Cool reflection of the skyline. With all the ripples in the glass, the scene looks scorching hot. But then, with all the shade at the bottom of the frame, it has a cool, quite feeling, too. Nice.

i like this shot. kind of reminds me of the matrix when neo saves the helicopter with trinity in it and slams against the building and makes wave like forms against the surface... but hey i watch a little too many movies... i like :D

Wow, great photo. I like the shimmering effect for all the panes of glass. I don't think the windows shimmer like that normally so some clever photography technique at work here. PS why do you make the buildings I work(ed) at look so much more interesting than they actually are? :)

OH!!!!! How do you do it?! Do you ever correct vertical alignment in PS? You'll have to teach me one day...

about 85 percent of this shot resembles what looks like an urban modern monet-y impressionist painting while the bottom 15 puts the 85 in a more reality-based context. the two inhabiting the same image makes for an interesting picture. the colors here, of course, are outstanding as well as the shapes. great work.

must agree with the chuck close comment. it's the first thing i thought of. but the oranges and yellows and slate blue have a great metallic quality. one could spend hours working out the abstract hieroglyphics in each segment of the overall photo.

sam, congrats on your opening last night. photos were amazing... my fave was manhole cover, bird, bend. it was brilliant in print. if i had an extra $400 floating around i'd have snapped that up in a second! i've been a long time fan of your site, it was great to see your stuff in a tactile setting. thanks for your dedication to the art!

normally I'm not a fan of vertical shots that make me scroll, but this one was the exception. The colors are great but the long scroll, only to be brought back to reality at the very bottom, is terrific.

Amazing. This one definitely sets itself apart from anything else remotely like it.

Very surreal. The tapestry of gold, red and green at center-left is brilliant. It is interesting that the imperfections in a skyscraper hoped to be a perfect glass box by those who built it are the source of its real beauty.

I just love reflections. Personally I would of cropped out the building, however It's still a brilliant image.

I'm a newcomer to the site - and am enjoying seeing my home town in a new light! My only complaint is that it's hard to get the full effect of the photo when I have to scroll to see it. It's nice to see the clarity that comes with having it big, but it's hard to see the whole picture overall.

I never commented on any of your photographs but this time I can't help myself.
This one simply exploded off my screen the moment it opened.
It must give enormous satisfaction knowing that people all over the world are having this experience.

I would say this is one of your best. The texture of the building and the real looking of the roof of the other building makes the two parts in a nice contrast that matches the contrast between blue and red.... nicely captured.

This is beyond one's wildest imagination of what is possible with lens in hand.

Meanwhile, I thought *I* had a spectacular view ~ unlblocked north up the East River in Manhattan; inclusive of the United Nations, the 59th Street Bridge, Sutton Place and Trump World Tower. Fuggedaboutit. I'd take this one in a heartbeat.

Oh, and I love the salmon vertical ridges rising perpendicular to the sleek, glossy horizontal tiles.

I think you should keep using the street locations. You're building up a Toronto mythology with your fantasitc pics. Intersections in Toronto do add meaning to a picture. Think of the contrast when someone mentions Ave & Dav as opposed to Queen/Spadina. If people don't know it, then they'll get to know it eventually. I've never spent to much time in New York but somehow I know the mythology attached to SoHo, Harlem and the Bowery.

You do Toronto proud, Sam.
