Comments: iced tea lemon

I love the abstract, painterly qualities of this one! Pulchritudinous and interesting - as are most of your photographs!

Thanks, Sam!

But now I'm thirsty.......

I really love this photo! It seems that you have captured just enough to set the scene but not to much so you keep wondering what was taking place in that picture! I admire your photo abilities!

Great man ! I have a A95 and the fact that my pictures are never as good as yours, I always blamed on the camera difference, but now I don't have much to say :)

I've started following your blog a month or so ago, and I love this shot! I can almost feel how refreshing the tea is!

i have always admired your ability to compose nice images. even with an A95, u do wonders with it. goes with the saying 'its not what you have, its what you do with it'.keep up updating with excellent photos!

The condensation on the side of the glass and your the lack thereof where your fingers held the glass are so clear. Definitely the A95 was the better way to go.

pff I thought it was just my camera was crappy until I saw this! i guess it's just me!

Posted by Emily at May 17, 2005 08:17 AM

Good closeup shot and strong colour - like the background of your friend in the shot too.

"Why is that lemon more photogenic than me?"

Posted by Nick at May 17, 2005 08:54 AM

Great shot with the new camera. It's pretty cool how you can get such a good DOF with that f2.8 lens. Nice job!

I carry around a Canon A520 (4 MP) - and an even smaller Canon S410, also a 4MP - and they are similarly capable of some good photos which I occasionally post as well.

Hehe,
I'm going for an A95 as well! Unfortunately, I still have to wait another month and a half before I'll be able to start experimenting with it, as my parents are buying me a set for my 18th birthday.

Kudos for the great pictures you supply on a daily basis. :)

You've inspired me to revisit using my A75 for more things than just family photos. Its nice to see a good photographer not poo-poo a point'n'shoot camera.

Posted by DJB at May 17, 2005 11:02 AM

Goodness, I've now seen all the photos on the site (yes, I went through all the archives), and have kept up on seeing the daily post for a couple of months. And today, I'm just so profoundly impressed by all that I've seen that I simply have to congradulate you on your amazing tallent that you share with the so much of the world. To see a God given tallent be shared like this is so pleasing that I just had to let you know.

Keep up the amazing work, and never, ever stop sharing!

one of my favorites...great comp.

Posted by charlotte at May 17, 2005 02:25 PM

this must be at the beach on one of those rickety porches.

man... i can taste the sweet cool drink going down and feel the trickle of sweat rolling down my temple as the doobie brothers china groove floats through the screen door to the front porch.

this shot is refreshing at its best.

Posted by bryanj at May 17, 2005 04:45 PM

i like it, reminds me "coca cola lemon" :)
nice shot,

chrische

The a95 is a pretty decent camera. Its what I am currently useing until I spring for a used d rebel or rebel XT. Although the focus and shutter lag will bother you eventually. Good price tho :)

Posted by andrew at May 17, 2005 07:21 PM

I got the 350D but my A70 is the everyday camera. You made a good choice :-)

Posted by Maran at May 17, 2005 08:27 PM

Wow! Stunning composition. I really like the shallow depth of field here. The color is the first thing to hit me and then the recognition of the glass. It's wasn't until I took it all in that I noticed the person in the background. Really compelling. I think I just licked my lips with thirst :-)

Posted by bruce at May 17, 2005 10:26 PM

cool prize :) this is an amazing shot, i really love this, its sooo cool (no pun intended). i cant get over it, its awsome!

Posted by /\/\J at May 17, 2005 11:38 PM

Mmm, liking that tea Sam. Did you have a macro lens on that?

I've got an A80 *sigh*.

Posted by Aston at May 18, 2005 03:26 AM

I would like to see you take the same photo with both cameras and see a split comparison of the quality...
