another great shot: amazing perspective, uniqe subject, and clever advantage of freshness after rain.

You have a beautiful vision, Sam.

Unless it occurs to you to scroll down (it didn't to me, initially) you don't even see the front table and chair, and the whole shot appears spooky in its out-of-focusness way.

Posted by Frank at May 15, 2005 09:05 AM

loved it. loved the focus on the chair closest to you. you can just imagine there is a person talking to you right now, with lots of background noise -- chattering, laughing, talking.

Posted by okleydo at May 15, 2005 09:37 AM

Love the silver and wood shot!

Posted by Ayan at May 15, 2005 09:52 AM

No, I don't think you need the table in focus. The chair wet is visually interesting enough to be a very good focal/beginning point for the piece.
Btw, you have an excellent eye. Keep up the very good work.

Beautiful, the chrome effect in this photo is very nice. the focus is very accurate. However, these green things on the floor (i dont know whether they are leaves or what!) made the image background look bit strange. Thanks!

I love uncommercial restaurant shots...the water on the chairs, I like a lot.

Posted by marie leconte at May 15, 2005 12:29 PM

ah yes..."intimate" this is, as mentioned by sandro, as i see the chair's intention to stand out and declare its independence from its usual couterpart--the table.

Sam, your perspectives via lens as shared with us daily continue to inspire my everyday perception of life itself. a mediation of sorts you do provide. thanx!!

Sharper table might have been better (image says f7) but DOF is hard to check on the camera back - in the rain.

This is lovely.

The silver and the brown complement each other nicely. I like the DOF.

Sam this is (as always) wonderful. The (fallen leaves?) yellow brick road. .. really adds to the feeling here. Kind of like, if Dorothy were to stop at a cafe. . . =)

A sea of chairs. I love it!

Nice one Sam...i usually only go out when it's not raining. I got a shot at the same spot on a bright day. The chrome really makes the photo pop.

The Distillery District is a quick walk for lunch hour shoots from the office.
