I LOVE this photograph - the textures, the colours, the light, the feel, the composition, the subject..... The quirky squiggle of metal is fun against the weathered 'oldness', and it's like a heart monitor - after experiencing the golden goodness of the pansies, the heart goes from flatlining to beating again!

Thanks, Sam!

And now I feel like going for tea at Balzac's....

Brilliant! A seemingly mundane image converted into a highly memorable image....

Outstanding!

Wonderful colours, framing, and textures. One of my recent favourites, by far.

There's a book by Aldous Huxley called Chrome Yellow. This picture made me think of the title before I looked at what you named the picture.

I thoroughly enjoy this photograph for it's contrasting yet flowing colours, for it's mixture of curves and grids, and for it's composition. This is another good work of art.

wonderful, wonderful. I'm very attracted to the contrasting colors of the flowers and the brick wall.

Sometimes I find it so odd that these artlike arrangements are everywhere around us, yet we walk past them rushing to work or taking everything for granted. In this case, there are all sorts of balancing acts happening - old/new, organic/man-made, dark/light, to name a few. Very interesting and a very nice formal composition. Sweet!

Looks like the flowers are scared of the metal squigly thing!

Great shot!

Great texture! I love how there's so many textures present, soft, natural, hard, rough. Great capture!

the squiggle helps to interfere with the overall symmetry of this image. i love it! great eye for composition and color.

not only all the colors are wonderful but the textures, with the brick, window panel and smooth flower pot there really is a lot to appreciate.

Nice mix of color! I also like how the metal bar complete the separation with the top of the flower pot.

Am I the only one feel this pic is slightly off-balanced?
The left part(the flower) is slightly heavier the right part (heart-beat shape).

The colors are absolutely lovely. Love the juxtaposition of flowers, and peeling paint. The contrast of the green against the brick red all works to give you an emotional color jolt while being quite comforting at the same time. Top shelf photo!
