What kind of film did you load in your LC-A? the shot has great warm colours though it seems really quite grainy. Spare 800 roll?
p.s. is that your head in the mirrored poster? ;)
Posted by Tanja at April 20, 2005 02:27 AMThat's great. I love the Lomo. My nikon it broken, so I've been shooting with mine for the last two weeks.
Posted by Michael Dominic at April 20, 2005 02:34 AMI can almost smell it!
Posted by Liisa Anderson at April 20, 2005 04:29 AMLove the mood in this shot. I was really beginning to understand why so many NYC movies are shot in Toronto by your street scenes... however Toronto subways are apparently MUCH nicer (garbage bags and all) than the NYC subway system.
Posted by Kenny (blaqenedwyte blog) at April 20, 2005 07:27 AMIn New York, the bags would be torn or not there at all, and the trash would be everywhere.
Posted by you at April 20, 2005 07:29 AMSam... another great shot... You always manage to capture those little nooks and crannies that usually escape our eye.
Posted by Jean-Paul Bedard at April 20, 2005 07:58 AMThe backlit Wu-Tang sign makes the picture.
Posted by be OH be at April 20, 2005 08:42 AMI love the way the garbage is constrasted with the hues eminating from the walls perpindicular to the yellows of the storage bins. You have captured the essance of a city's battle between harmony and waste. :-P
I really love your website but I can't understand some of the comments people leave. they make as much sense as what I wrote above.
Keep up the good work though. I visit everyday! :-)
Posted by Sanj at April 20, 2005 09:01 AMit looks like the 1970's all over again with this picture....
Posted by still[frames] at April 20, 2005 09:54 AMi love pictures of trash. it's different everytime.
Posted by spoon at April 20, 2005 10:31 AMHi..
What a great site..
I have visited several times since Firefox 'StumbledUpon' brought me here... someone made a good recommendation there !

So similar in colour to yesterday's shot, rather different in subject matter!
Not QUITE as inspiring as your studio, but an interesting shot nonetheless!
Posted by Kathy at April 20, 2005 02:09 PMi will have to write the same thing everyday:
great colours
great shot
thanks
Posted by nicolas at April 20, 2005 02:49 PMGreat shot, I love the Lomo!
Posted by Alessandra at April 20, 2005 03:13 PMhi, i just browsed onto your blog via tasnuva's and i absolutely adore your work! i was hoping to add the rss feed to my livejournal but all i see is a bunch of code. not too sure what to do from here onwards :/
Posted by moonal at April 20, 2005 04:07 PMbrowns, reds, yellows...cozy colors that stimulate hunger for me on this one. warm trash for thought, that is. excellent yet again sam.
Posted by dogstone at April 20, 2005 05:59 PMgreat grunge effect. awesome shot man
Posted by bluemonkey at April 20, 2005 10:03 PMWere the corners of this photo darkened in PS?
It looks really good in terms of focusing in on the center.
This is garbage.
No this is my home if I were a raccoon.
The colors and film grain reinforce the photo's subject matter and general feel really well. Nice.
Posted by Chris at April 21, 2005 01:53 AMThe fact that the garbage bags are transparent makes the picture more interesting. In India, I find garbage bags to be mostly dark coloured. Are they always transparent on your side.
Posted by Harpreet at April 21, 2005 02:03 AMLove the film grain. It goes really well with the subject matter.
Posted by Abe at April 21, 2005 02:29 AMThose TTC Ads are SOO bad.
Such a waste of Ad space that could be gathering ACTUAL revenue.
Also - They may want to rethink having THREE(!) different taglines. Stick with one.
"THE BETTER WAY"
"RIDE THE ROCKET"
"WE STOP WHERE THE ACTION STARTS" <--- REALLY dumb line.
I never thought trash could look so gorgeous!
