hey sweet shot, the purple looks cool. good composition and the brick pattern looks crazy. great shot.
Posted by bluemonkey at April 10, 2005 12:44 AMwooh! I really like this! I really dig the symmetry. the curtains are very cool - great effect!
btw, sam, I finally received my new rebel xt (I was going to get a 20D or wait for the new 20D but I opted to go with the rebel xt after getting a good $$ on ebay for my rebel 300D) - my first xt pic is posted on my site. I highly recommend it.
Posted by Abe at April 10, 2005 01:03 AMnice structure
Posted by getpixed at April 10, 2005 02:30 AMthat window is tasty.:)
Posted by nafiseh at April 10, 2005 02:46 AMI've been surfing here for a few weeks now - And I really like your work, but I don't find this a particularly interesting shot. Not sure why.
Cool composition, like it a lot... The curtains of the two windows on the bottom seem unreal though, almost like they were painted and not curtains, strange...
Posted by flygirl at April 10, 2005 03:45 AMWindows boarded up?
Posted by Jacob at April 10, 2005 06:04 AMhi, i would love to know what kind of digital camera do you use to take such astonishing pictures?
Posted by val at April 10, 2005 08:49 AMIt looks out of focus.
Posted by Ed at April 10, 2005 09:33 AMgood idea, but lose the fence. abit stronger composition. i like the way u look at a city.. finding the unusual in common places... individualism amongst the masses

This was a shock: I'm used to you doing shots like this with incredible sharpness. I know you wanted to capture the pink, but with this low resolution I wonder if it wouldn't have been better in b&w?
Posted by Frank at April 10, 2005 10:11 AMMaybe I'm just used to the clarity of digital cameras, but I think this shot is a little bit on the blurry side... nice pink contrast at the bottom though.
My new site is up and finished now Sam. If you want to take a look I'd be greatful. http://shatteredabstracts.com.ru
Posted by Raffi at April 10, 2005 10:51 AMThe pink plastic curtains are interesting...
Posted by sneep at April 10, 2005 12:21 PMI am sure I would fall in love if I see the first floor house keeping lady. Just imagine how cute she should be!
Posted by No name at April 10, 2005 12:37 PMa bit out of focus this time :/
Posted by dominik at April 10, 2005 12:55 PMa rather boring, unfocused shot.
however, I am only saying this because of my high expectations of your work.
the purple is nice, but not enough in the overall image to be captivating.
Posted by eugene at April 10, 2005 01:26 PMNothing interesting there, sorry. Smoothed in addition.
But pink wooden curtains still.. catchy? :)
Posted by bmoll at April 10, 2005 02:00 PMyeah it looks either ever so slightly out of focus or some camera shake, or maybe its a crop of an area on the edge of the image.
Posted by stephen at April 10, 2005 02:12 PMI agree with Ed, it seems kinda fuzzy...
Posted by Jess at April 10, 2005 03:47 PMto be honest, i expect alot more from you.
Posted by soroush at April 10, 2005 03:55 PMJust to clarify from my comment above, I highly recommend the rebel xt, not my fotos. :-) But back to this pic - I don't really think this is out of focus, as someone above mentioned; it has a nice, warm and almost diffused tone throughout. Again, great pic - I really enjoy it!
Posted by Abe at April 10, 2005 04:23 PMThe purple-pink windows are cool with the painted curtains, but it does look out of focus to me too. And it's just off centre, which drives me just slightly bonkers. But nice spotting.
Posted by Gloria at April 10, 2005 05:07 PMShots like this, focused or not, is becoming a trademark of your site. It's good that many people still appreciate it.
Posted by Boreo at April 10, 2005 07:43 PMfrom reading a few of the comments, i dont think many people realize that those curtains are painted. i know i didn't at first. i like the cartoonish look on a more industrial background. looks like a roger rabbit movie.
Posted by rich at April 10, 2005 08:15 PMGood shot. A little blurry, but I like it- just like I always do.
Posted by Eric at April 10, 2005 11:42 PMHello Sam and al...

Posted by roya at April 11, 2005 06:50 AMThat's a nice shot. I wanna give my windows the painted on curtain look now.
What's the story on everyone's anal-retentive obsession with sharp focus? Does a soft focus completely ruin any photo in your opinion? Just curious.
Posted by be OH be at April 11, 2005 11:12 AMI absolutely adore this photo. Thank you.
Posted by Jonathon at April 12, 2005 05:48 PMThis is actually a bar called "My Apartment", it is what I look at when I look outside my office window! This is on the first floor and I am on the 5th, with a parking lot in between.
They are painted wooden curtains!
