Asleep or was he 'shot' by his own camera? At least he wouldn't have far to go to call the police!
Hilarious 'shot', Sam!
:-D
Posted by Kathy at April 7, 2005 01:01 AMmaybe its just me but when i look at the picture overall it looks slanted. but when i try to focus on the sections and lines in the photo - they look fine!!! what's going on?? im freakin out!!!
:) otherwise i like the simplicity/geometry of the shot

Nice capture.
Her Royal Fluffiness, Theodora Bear, aka 'Teddi' is recovering from a very recent nasty bit of surgery. Our Witch-in-Residence is away for a few months. Teddi had a painful night so she did not get to sleep properly until about 4:00 am after medication. I had a chance to nap after 5:00 am by which time she was snoring lustily. In the meantime, you posted a picture of someone sleeping soundly
Sam, please don't do that to me again.
Heh nice scene. On your way back from the distillery by chance?
Posted by Jon at April 7, 2005 09:36 AMi have the undeniable urge to go up to him and punch him in the stomach just to freak him out. i don't understand how anyone sleeps in public. i can barely sleep on a plane!
Posted by gleek at April 7, 2005 10:30 AMI like it when you change up the photos and add these simple every-day life pics in with the more advanced "finished" photographs. Never know what to expect. Interesting photograph though.

Posted by Justin at April 7, 2005 11:11 AMquick take the camera and run.
Posted by Jnetty at April 7, 2005 11:38 AMAwesome shot! I have this urge to tie his shoe laces together though :D
I love this site, it makes me see my home town of Toronto in a new light every day!
Posted by Shawn at April 7, 2005 12:33 PM"when i look at the picture overall it looks slanted"
I see the same. The effect seems to be due to two conflicting off-horizontals:
1. The shadow of the bench, and the cement base of the sign (both at a positive angle).
2. The shadow of (what I assume is) a pole just outside the right boundary of the photo (at a negative angle).
Removing either of these elements destroys the illusion.
By the way, I've been watching for a few months now and I'm inspired by most of your work. Thanks for sharing!
Posted by Kyle at April 7, 2005 12:41 PMI just love it :D

Posted by David at April 7, 2005 03:11 PMHah I guess he doesnt have to worry about his camera getting stolen, being in front of a police station and all... =P Cool shot.

Posted by kcc at April 7, 2005 07:34 PMhaha...he looks like a dummy somebody forgot from a movie set... i wonder what would happen if the boss comes by to "pick him up"??
Posted by still[frames] at April 7, 2005 09:10 PMOne of the best shots I've seen around recently - great composition and fun too. Really stuck in my mind. I can't see the slant others mention.
