Comments: the pope

He seems to be popular worldwide, I think it is a bit too much, I am a cahtolic but no so much I adore him..... I would definately NEVER buy a t-shirt with his picture on it.

Excellent documentation of an event. Particularly love the second shot.

the Pope and the Che, good combination.

I find the first image highly intriguing especially after I read this article just the other day:

A pink Pope John Paul tank top? Wouldn't that be considered sacrilegious?

i like the juxtaposition between the pope and che guevera. nice. also, total yay-ness for daylight savings! mmm sunshine until 8pm...

Someone who loves me very much went to Toronto, Canada and got me this Che Guevara t-shirt. I find the idea of a thin strapped pink pope shirt quite strange. Good find though Sam (I like the subliminal optix in the second one)

How highly disrespectful to the Pope that they displayed shirts with his image on them next to shirts with someone who stood for something the Pope was against.

Great Photos btw. :)

beautiful snapshot of the thrills and chills of a mundane life - you can read a lot into pics

these are great captures of what is around us!
how do you consistently produce such stable handheld shot?

Re: the bottom photo - I think that it would be a little difficult to reflect seriously upon the pope when that fun little man is leaning out from behind the frame to the right! Who or what is that little man?

Re: the top photo - I think that it would be a little difficult to reflect seriously upon the pope if he were emblazoned upon the chest of a woman who favoured pink tank tops.

Thanks for the fun contrasts, Sam!

Che and the pope a nice combo?!! Well, I guess the pope was a good antidote for murderers such as Che Guevarra.

The pope was against evils such as communism. Che was the direct opposite. War criminal, coward, killer of unarmed children and adults. A fan of Stalin. The pope travelled to dictators such as Che's "comrade" Fidel Castro to try to make him release political prisoners and legalize church ceremonies.

I do have a Che Guevarra T-shirt. It says "Che Guevarra deserved to die". It makes me sad to see people celebrate a killer such as Che. They could might as well wear a t-shirt with a picture of Stalin, Gadhaffi, Hitler or Mao etc...

Before you decide to wear a "Che" t-shirt, please read about how surviving Cubans feel about it. And please help educate others.

Did anyone notice that the window display looks like it is signed by Christ at the bottom right corner? Kind of like the window is a painting and there you have the name of the creator on the bottom right. Interesting.

the first image shows us that the pope was also a revolutionary!!!...as an argentinian would say...mira che is the pope!!!:)

I'm all poped out.

Below pope's painting, do you see those little statues? One of them is this guy in a tub with his stuff out of the tub water. I just found it interesting and funny somehow ... I don't exactly know why! ;)

Nice pics, Sam. I like the colors. The pope in the bottom pic is beautifully illuminated.

You photographed the same pink Pope tank top I spotted yesterday and told my fiancé about! I'm starting to feel like I'm passively stalking you - I keep recognizing all these Toronto scenes.....

I like the che t-shirt that says 'Murdering Communist Bastard'. You can buy it here: http://www.che-mart.com/
