Comments: tall scotia plaza

Your stitches are always top notch. I can never find where the photos overlap. Keep up the good work.

O.O
Your the only photoblogger that I've seen - take great pictures and combine them to make one awesome picture.

Look momma!! Magic!!! :) :)

Awesome picture this!! :)

Posted by Bobin at March 28, 2005 05:33 AM

I really like the picture.

The way the roof bulges makes the image look like an optical illusion when you scroll down.

Cool!!!

Posted by Peter at March 28, 2005 06:41 AM

renversant!!! I like it.

Posted by Steven at March 28, 2005 07:39 AM

Woah...Normally I don't like scrolling. But here it works. It feels like I'm looking up, and when I scroll feels like i'm bringing my head down...great effect.

Posted by Khuffie at March 28, 2005 07:55 AM

its making me dizzy..

Posted by blu at March 28, 2005 08:31 AM

Massive. I like it. Is canon's photo strecher limitied to only canon cameras? or is it something I could download and use with any digital camera?

Posted by Aaron at March 28, 2005 08:38 AM

That is truly amazing!

Posted by Vaffanculo at March 28, 2005 08:50 AM

Great effect. I can feel my neck strain backwards just scrolling down the photo!

Posted by emma at March 28, 2005 09:03 AM

Your tall photos are quite interesting. Have you ever thought about making a 360 degree photo stitched together. That would make for some interesting viewing...

Posted by Marc at March 28, 2005 09:08 AM

great idea - to stitch vertically :)
my appreciation

Posted by netske at March 28, 2005 09:15 AM

Great composition! A pity I can't rotate my monitor 90° - but it' still a pretty interesting effect when you scroll down: the lines curve slightly, made me almost feel dizzy...

Posted by animoid at March 28, 2005 09:16 AM

Bravo!

Posted by db at March 28, 2005 09:22 AM

Posted by Scott at March 28, 2005 09:36 AM

Posted by jesse at March 28, 2005 09:47 AM

Uff, amazing... Great work!

Greetings from Germany, Hamburg.

Posted by Michael at March 28, 2005 09:47 AM

wow! that's crazy... haha i thought it was only going to be a picture of the roof... but wow! Was I surprised. You should try a 360degrees one.

Posted by ecila at March 28, 2005 09:49 AM

Very well executed. It looks like one giant, seamless shot. Very impressive.

Posted by JLM at March 28, 2005 10:08 AM

COOL! Now that's thinking out of the box... I'd never thought you can use photo switch on the other axis... haha

Again, great colors.....

That Canon PhotoStitch software is amazing! I use it too and I have tried to use Photoshop alone and it never works out as planned. PhotoStitch does it almost flawlessly in about 5 seconds.

Nice pic...always a pleasure to visit your site. Funny too bc my aunt lives in those 'obtrusive' condo towers to the left of the CN Tower (when looking at it from the frozen lake a few weeks ago). I sent her the pic and she cracked up...Small world it is.

Posted by Matt at March 28, 2005 11:20 AM

Awsome stuff! I love the very long, stitched pictures. Such a contrast from top to bottom.

Posted by Raffi at March 28, 2005 11:23 AM

Wow, that is AWESOME!!! I've never seen this done before... How cool!!! You are amazing!

Posted by Melissa at March 28, 2005 12:01 PM

When you scrolled from top, there is a difference of width in the glass/metal window on ceiling. I guess that width difference is because of perspective. If you scroll it fast, it feels like you are sitting in a roller coaster and looking at that window. Very cool and creative!

Posted by SliceOfLife at March 28, 2005 12:05 PM

Your eyes see amazing things. It's a good thing you carry cameras!

Posted by Kevin at March 28, 2005 12:14 PM

Awe inspiring!
both the construction itself and your rendering of it. You've done it again, Sam.

inspired by this picture, i took a walk down to scotia plaza today during my break at work. you've done a fantastic job in capturing the architecture of a building that really does draw your eyes up and beyond the glass skylights.

Posted by vasta at March 28, 2005 03:27 PM

Whoa! From cool blue to warm orange. Great pic! I feel my neck stretching as I'm scrolling. Would be great for a banner.

Posted by jenny at March 28, 2005 07:07 PM

They say that photographs should have a purpose and evoke thoughts, feelings or memories. This picture takes me to scotiaplace. I feel like I'm standing in the exact spot where the photo was taken and I do feel like I'm craning my neck to take in the whole scene. This kind of work is fantastic and I enjoyed it immensely. Often photography presents image, it's rare that photography creates sensation. Exceptional work and please keep it up!

Posted by Norm Rockwell at March 28, 2005 07:18 PM

I always like when you do these because without reading the way you did it, its a complete mind fuck, and its like you are standing in the place and nodding your head up and down. Or maybe thats just me..

Posted by tonia at March 28, 2005 08:24 PM

Great stitch. You can get even better results with more overlapping photos, it takes some of the lens distortion out of the picture.

I use Photovista and it seems to work ok. I have some examples.

I love the way that the top of the tower seems so distant but you can follow it right down to that guy with the saggy man-boobs at the base and suddenly it's only steps in front of you. If this is numerous shots fused together, then you're editing technique is on par with your artistic vision... You should come to Boston and shoot a bit!
