Great shot, warm light, nice play with blur n sharpness ... It's always a pleasure to make a quick stop here. Thanks!

Posted by Tice at March 23, 2005 03:37 AM

the warm colors definitely gives the photo a relaxing, comfortable, cuddled up in your bed under a couple blankets with a cup of hot cocoa on a cold toronto morning/evening feeling. though the h2o and aspirin let's us know it probably wasn't as pleasant. hope you're feeling better!

I hope you get better soon. I miss your pictures from Toronto. Greetings from Spain.

Sorry to hear you are under the weather - plenty to read there and keep your mind of it though!

Your photo reminds me of one I took a while back after a heavy night on the beers... I've posted it on my (still under construction) photoblog for you to see.

Good luck in the photobloggies, and get well soon Sam!

Home sick day - you've got the stack of comic books, all you need is a sympathetic person bringing in the chicken soup!

Duck back under the covers and get well soon, Sam!

interesting photo as always :)

I was wondering who is behind these photos and maybe I saw this person but since you have no photo about yourself on this site it's hard to guess. now I found one on another photoblog about you with another famous photoblogger. the Canon 300d is always with you ;) now I know who I have to look for.

Dear Sam! Hooray for Good-bye Chunky Rice! I hope that book made you feel better - it does *absolute* wonders for me when I'm sick.

you know you're obsessed when you begin sleeping with your camera. :-P

I second that hooray for Chunky Rice. It's awesome. I'm travelling through Europe now and the only book I brought with me is Carnet de Voyage, also by Thompson. And I liked Flood a lot, too.

Get well soon Sam. I guess its photographic evidence that you really were sick and not taking a day off for fun.

=-) becareful in the changing weather. It's the easiest time to get ill.

I think it's the light, really, that makes this special--it gives the image a dynamic quality that makes ordinary objects tell a better story.

Posted by Matt at March 23, 2005 08:22 PM

stay healthy, sam ^_^ cos i need your inspirations
take care, ciao...

Eric Drooker is effing awesome. I wanna get blood song but I haven't been able to get to mayday books recently.

Posted by asbestosuit at March 23, 2005 08:55 PM

do you actually read those books? haha good shot

Posted by Bluemonkey at March 23, 2005 09:37 PM

Some of my favorite shots are ones like this that take every day, ordinary surroundings and make them interesting. I think it takes a really good eye to see the picture.

Hope you feel better soon.

Posted by laanba at March 23, 2005 09:46 PM

ahh, the lazyness that picture evokes

Posted by fernando at March 23, 2005 09:47 PM

Great shot - I love the warmth. Almost gives it a vintage look. Hope you're feeling better!

Posted by adrifter at March 23, 2005 10:35 PM

Hope you feel better soon Sam. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but, I like the blurriness of the part of the photo were the pills are, symbolic of the groginess those pills are supposed to take away.

Posted by A.S. at March 23, 2005 11:25 PM

Just curious. What's the source of light in this picture? Is it a table lamp or sunlight... ?

Posted by Elissa Mae at March 23, 2005 11:39 PM

This is so cool... Only you can make books, a water bottle, and medicine look so good. Great!

Posted by Abe Savona at March 24, 2005 02:48 AM

I'm a fan of your pictures, I'm a fan of your wonderful city too. A couple of years ago I was in Toronto (and had a great time) but ate something that disagreed with me. I spent a day in bed too, so I can relate to this picture. Toronto - great city, great people.

Posted by Derek Hart at March 24, 2005 07:03 AM

Hope you feel better Sam.

Nice picture and interesting books you have there. And you can't beat those 1.5L of Rexall water for 69 cents. :)
