hu, great colors. seems to be some hippie compound in there :) nice photo, really...

Back in the day this was the Spadina Hotel. A venue I have performed at numerous times with my old band "hangin' tree". Looks like the new age hippies have over-run the place now though!!

How many different colours of paint are there on the facade?

i live deep in the American Southwest / your pictures of Toronto are so enticing in their contrast to the wildscape that surrounds me / i really must come to visit !

Nicely captured.

pretty colors contrast nicely with the other rectangular elements of this photo. the buildings, windows, framing, newspaper boxes, etc. geometrically somewhat "mathmatical"(i made that up. kill me. :)), but perfect with all these colors.

You might think that the CN Tower is kind of a theme in your work, but what I love is the impromtu chorus of newspaper boxes that often show up in your shots. That is actually a very Toronto thing as few other cities in Canada have such a diversity of street boxes. I think of them as little witnesses, shuffling into view just before you take the shot, admiring the subject from a closer vatage point.

It's sure full of hippies there. I had a friend come over from Europe and she stayed there, she loved it. Met all sorts of weirdo's, but she didn't think them weird.

I walked by this corner everyday. Too bad I didn't bump into u. I guess it's the time of the day, but I would like it better if it's less yellowish.

Very vivid colours. Diverse. ;)

Nice photo. I saw that place many times before. Definitely one of the more interesting buildings in Toronto. I don't think I would ever stay in that place though.

Little witnesses??? I agree about the newspaper boxes being interesting and the personification of them is kind of cute, but I also think someones been dosing a bit heavily on the caffine at work purhaps... (just kidding)

LOL...maybe...but LOOK at them...The CN Tower stands over all this work looking down and these little guys are everywhere looking up.

But anyway...time for another espresso!

Almost six years ago I used to stay in the Global Village while visiting Toronto. Your picture has been a nice reminder of the great time(s)I had then.

I stayed there once, about three years ago...it had mice then, but other than that, it was a fun place to stay - the only backpackers I've ever come across with a bar!
