Sam,
The colour and lighting in this shot is brilliant! How you manage to get the right exposure without blowing the highlights never ceases to amaze me. Congrats on the new year, the bloggie award, and whatever accolades you received in the past year.

Cool photo..the warm colors and the texture on the lamp really do it for me. If I could change anything, I'd add a bit more lamp shade to the top of the image, but all in all, I think it works well. Great shot.

what's happend? I can't see your picture on my Firefox browser like before... why?

I really love this new year series of yours, especially the the sharpness of the pictures and the greenery! Happy new year!

wow, I didn't even realize it was the first day of spring today. (woohoo!) You should put a potted plant outside in the snow and take a picture. :)

Anyway, your photograph looks beautiful. The lighting from the lamp is what really makes this picture. The different textures is nice too. The only thing I notice that looks a little off (I hope you're open to some critique) is that the lamp shade looks blurry, and even like it's not a part of the lamp base itself. Kinda like it was pasted on top of the picture.

In either case, I do like this one.

"Mart kapidan baktirir kazma kurek yaktirir."
Which means everybody waits the month of March to bring and end to winter anxiously but usually in March one has to burn their wood shovel handle etc. Hang on there spring is on the door.

Belle photo d'intimité, chaleureuse...belle complicité entre la lumière de la lampe et les feuilles de la plante...bravo..

Somewhere along the lines of "If the spring won't come to me, then I'll go the spring".....a very nice shot and the colors are sweet. I hope the spring comes soon to your area.

Reaching for the light.....EXACTLY!

Fear not, the birds are singing their joyous spring songs and the snow isn't taking itself seriously. Spring is here!

The nice thing about inside grass is that you don't have to mow it.

interesting photo. nice lighting and great title.

how about being kind to your plant and moving it a bit closer to the light??? =-P Hope PUBLIcity is going well. I was happy to see you exhibiting your work. If I wasn't half a world away I would have been there opening night. If you ever have an exhibit in Japan, I am so there!

Very nice, deep colors indeed. The only "but" (I just love to criticize ;)) Is that the grass blades under the lamp seem hazy, as if they lost the intensity, went dry or something of the sort. Maybe it's a question of where the lamp is exactly, and how it projects light? I wish the blades had a slightly stronger, fuller tone... Apart from that - pure delight.

You liar! I walked along the beach this afternoon, it was heaven! I sat in the sand beside the last big chunks of ice and my son threw pebbles in Lake Ontario.

This looks very warm, especially since the scene outside is so cold. Great foto - amazing exposure. So well done as always, Sam. Of course I will be voting for you in every category available.

I'm so impressed! I first looked at this shot and thought,"this is kinda strange" and then I scrolled down to see the title. You see so much more than I ever will. Good luck on the bloggies!
