Comments: video surveillance

Did they spot you shooting them?

I like the way the shdow is fading from right side to left. The geometry is also interesting because combines the curves and lines ... all overs surveillance. a plus of observation. good job

And if the video doesn't stop you, those spikes will. =) The thing I like about this photograph is the obvious warning that there is a video surveillance camera somewhere, but what may not be as obvious is the menacing fence that appears to be surronding the edifice. Sam, did you take this shot through the fence?

It took me a minute to really appreciate this picture... the shadows on the walls with lines really is nice though. I have to hand it to you Sam, you really have an eye for these things..

this picture doesn't do anything for me. it doesn't really say anything. its kind of boring. the strongest stuff on this site tends to be the larger things like the cityscapes and landscapes. but this stuff isn't really cutting it for me. a photo of a cement wall saying video surveillance.

I like the shadows. This pic is almost like a diagram for the rule of thirds. Well done, Sam.
I really wish that those who do not have the ability to appreciate your photos would simply not comment; it doesn't make any sense to me that they do, nor does it add anything to this site when they go on about the fact that they can't see/appreciate something that everyone else apparently can.

i enjoyed this picture a lot....more than most of the others lately. maybe it's because i'm in such a good mood, it's so beautiful outside, but this is a great picture, you have a great eye.

Interesting. So many detalis to look at and discover. I like the ironwork's shadow. Then the pattern of the wall. The contrast between the sharp letters and the soft shadow. Modern phenomenon of video surveillance and the somewhat older art of wrought iron.

I would love a picture with the shadow on the wall, but without the sign.

I took photos like that 20 years ago....

I can't make the opening Sam, but I'll be at the gallery on Saturday at 2:30pm. If you're not otherwise engaged, stop by. Looking forward to it. Linda

well balanced picture.I like the idea behind the image.

Video Surveillance = Image of Spears/Spikes

The combination of subtle wordplay and ominous shadows give this image its deeper significance. The "video" relates to visual, or image (as in, "daily dose of"). And the word "surveillance" contains the word "lance" (as in, spike or spear) which is the shadowy while simultaneously dominant element of the image.

Awesome.

It was not at all a surprise to me that you won.
That's what you deserve after all the wonderful shots you've shared with us. Congratulations!

Ha that's funny I did a video sign pic the other day. http://www.delusionaldreams.com/shadow/index.php?id=229 . It's got a different perspective than yours cause of the sky. Yours is good I like it cause of the shadows and such. Makes you think they aren't watching anything.

I have the feeling that Sam could take a picture of ANYthing and he would always get praise for it.

nice photo. There is a lot of meaning in this photo. Is the political statement in it on purpose or by accident? (right vs. left)

Looking forward to your next photo.
