Really powerful picture. I like the chains and the lighting. Keep on clicking...

Now here's a great way to mess with your mind........flip back and forth between the gorgeousness of yesterday's photo to the creepy nightmare of the offering for today.

This shot is interesting, but oh, so scary – suggestive of all kinds of nefarious deeds.......

You were in the right place at the right time, rock on. Nice use of the sophia tone, this has an excellent feel to it.

Thats a really creepy photo. Disturbingly scary.

I don't want to ask what you were doing down at the bottom of those cobweb filled stairs. A basement filled with old heavy chain. It's just creepy and what is with the little light right down their with the floor?? It lights everything in the most terrifying way.

This combined with the psych facility shots ... hmmm... I start thinking silence of the lambs creepy.

as always.

awesome picture, especially with the lighting.

Moody lighting is always a great atmosphere. Lovin the textures and tone with just enough lit up :)

i actually like the picture...... i don't have any morbid images creeping up in my mind. obviously its an old staircase with lots of spiderwebs. perhaps the picture would be even stronger, if the light source wasn't on it. anyways, i like the shot.

@kathy: great idea to switch between yesterday and today......!!!!

Great shot Sam. I much prefer these type of shots. Very rustic and industrialized.

I enjoy your daily dose of pictures! Keep clicking.

This is so fabulous. The light/shadow play on the metal is unbelievable. There's such a feel of ancientness and memory to this photo.

I like the spooky nature of this photo. It would probably be a great trigger picture for a nice horror story.

I like the way the chain is coiled under the stairs; it kind of leaves you wondering if there's something attached at the other end. :)

Beautiful picture! ... So rough and strong, yet with soft lighting and smooth curves on the chain. Almost sexual........ ok, maybe not. But I still love this picture.

Good stuff...

Strong concept, the light and colour makes feel the situation. Great job.

Eerie.
It looks as though it was shot for the cover of a suspense novel: "Secrets in the Basement."

Great composition and ideal candidate for sepia tone. There aren't too many people who "happen" to carry a (still-image) camera AND tripod to the theater. What was playing at the show: "Young Frankenstein"? :~)

Love the textures here. I'm hearing Phillip Marlowe tell me about the tall drink of water that showed up in his office a week ago ....

Makes me feel cold, sad, and lonely. Nice.

amazing shot, the color tone+ metals and chain + side lighting+ spider web and all that dirt are all related in some way.

Posted by soroush at March 11, 2005 02:16 PM

Full of different textures and really lovely lightening. Well done.
